What I mean by that is before I log at an outpost I fill and dump all my supply chests, empty treasure chests near the dock. It takes me only several minutes to fill them with boat inventory. Gathering supplies is annoying but a part of the game. If they vanish when I log out then i wont waste the time.

@wavestalker Only the gold you've collected from turning stuff in and the cosmetics you've bought with it will carry over to your next session. Supplies get reset every time.
@D3ADST1CK I think you might have misunderstood the point of the thread.
@wavestalker If your intent is to give it to another crew, it will stay provided you don't put your supplies in any barrels - those have a tendency to reset after 20 minutes. Also, anything floating in the water, sans rowboats, will sink and despawn in ~5 minutes (unless picked up, which resets the time-limit back to 5 minutes). I don't exactly know how long the stuff might stay on dry land, but I can guarantee you that it's at least an hour or more, if not indefinitely.

Thank you I sometimes find chests when I log on at outposts. Saves me time loading up.
I have come across items that have been left behind by other players so there is always a chance that someone will find it. If I have a storage creat then I will usually spend a couple of minutes putting some of my best items in it and leaving it on the dock for someone to find. I wouldn't worry about it too much though as the chances of it being found are probably fairly low, especially if you're going into an off peak time period and servers are shutting down.

i have definitely found crates left by previous crews and it always makes the night easier to start. you can sometimes also find things in the water if they leave things on their ship when they log off. i usually fill up any crates i have and leave them on the dock too. i also normally also drop my rowboat (if i have one) before logging off.
even just a few extra planks and cannonballs are helpful. even an empty crate is useful to a starting crew.

Did you read my post? I didn't talk about storage crates/supply crates...I said treasure chests are sellable...and guess what.. THEY ARE SELLABLE

ah, i didn't notice that the op was leaving treasure chests too... i saw he said supply chests and then everyone was talking crates.you are completely correct. treasure chests are sellable for a few gold (although it's also nice finding a treasure chest).
