Is it just me or are we getting tons of cheaters now. In regular adventure you might see one once a month. In this season I see them every 4 or 5 fights. And yes I do the difference between good players and cheaters. Even on YouTube there is a huge rise in cheat encounter vids. Any feedback?
Magic kegs and Ladder grabs.
Cheaters are like COD
Topics along this line have been discussed numerous times on this forum. What’s the point of creating another thread about it?
As for your question of is it just me or are we getting tons of cheaters now, it’s you! Well, you did ask.
I’m not denying the existence of cheaters but I do think that excuse is too heavily used now. Sometimes cheaters still can’t win even though they run an aimbot, as I watched on YT the other day. 🤣

The youtubers who are usually hardcore at the game? You can't make any comparison with the average SoT player though. Doesn't make it less frustrating to meet a cheater either.
@pumpa-cat I mean the frequency issues are raised are an indication of how much the affect the community. The fact that you can't necro if posts over a month old and there's no built in search function means people will create new threads on same subjects.
I've never experienced a cheater like described but seen enough videos to show they have come out of woodwork for this update and seemingly don't care about being banned as some of the flagrant names and shipnames used show they know those accounts will be banned

Necro after one month? That’s quite tight. 😄
I just find it so hard to believe everybody when they claim they’ve been sunk by cheaters.

You are not the only one. Definitly not. This topic has come up in the last month alone like 3-4 times. With you now its 4-5 lol
We have a busy debate here. Even though you cant always tell, many people seem to get the experience hacks are now more frequent then ever.
I really do get what you’re saying, but I also think we’re getting more players who are not as good as they like to think they are. They get beaten and rather than reflect on where did I go wrong? What can I learn from this? they automatically shout CHEATER! from the roof tops.
@parrotlord6426 said in Cheaters are like COD:
@pumpa-cat and where do you take that claim from? How is it you can disregard every experience people make as them being just sweaty? Thats rather disrespectful.
I did not say I disregard every claim, only that I find it hard to accept that every claim of cheaters is warranted. Players claiming cheater just because they lost is also disrespectful, to the player who bested them.
@parrotlord6426 said in Cheaters are like COD:
But disrespectful, you think so? To me its like the biggest form of flattery
I think it can work both ways, but you’re certainly not wrong. 🤣
@pumpa-cat yeah absolutely I'm pessimistic too that's why I've never claimed to have met cheaters. I've seen a fair few vids with definitive evidence recently though which seems more frequent
People speed swimming to boats straight out of hourglass invasion, kegs being teleported onto ships and blown (kaijoi had a vid of this his team was that good at recovery that hacker ended up just grabbing ladder and barrel rolling ship to force sink)
Watched a vid last night by Mr anchors where he mentions an exploit on reddit that they can access the shipwright repair option, in the vid you see the mast instaraise and also when no-one on board all the holes disappear.
Just watching beardageddon live and he had guy pull sail then instantly appear on his ship and shoot him, he even mentioned he was surprised it took so long to come across a hacker that they've been more common recently. So yeah people hitting snipes I would always give benefit of the doubt but these are blatant
@hiradc wait a second, grabbing ladder and the ship then started barrel roll untill sink? I had that over a month again fighting against a gally. lol didnt know that was a hack
@parrotlord6426 check out kaijoi and blue sail gang on YouTube. His crew knew of the keg exploit so they were staying spread out on gally so couldn't all die to keg. They weren't necessarily gonna win but putting up a fight and yeah hacker in the end got frustrated and flipped the ship

I think most of the "speed" hacks are actually manipulation of the physics somehow. You'll never see a player running fast on land, they are usually teleporting into the air and falling. I think this might also work with swimming, they are just falling closer to the surface of the water repeatedly but I'm not sure. A lot of them will drop fairly far into the water and try to dolphin dive or use momentum to board the ship.
It would point to there being not as strong sanity checks on player movement when they are under the effects of gravity (cannon shots, falling, etc...). I would hope this is fixable, but it could also cause weird rubberbanding when shooting yourself from a cannon if your client and the server disagree on your position.
Hi all!
If you suspect people of cheating, please report them to our Customer Support team following these steps.
Also here is your kind reminder that discussing exploits is not allowed on the Forum.
Dropping anchor here.
Thanks!
