@jumpiestdust213 I do understand we got an advantage, Me and my friends are rofling hard daily and taunting and running circles around controller players. And I could see how its unfair, for me the fix would be Don't play on a shitstation or xturd and go the best way to game, PC =D we Get all the benefits except some exclusive games, but then again PC also gets exclusive games that the hardware on consoles can't handle.
I have a pc lol, been playing on pc's since I bought my first extra phone line and dialed up my friends pc to kick his a**e in warcraft! I play console games with my 6 year old grandson! We get to share everything I buy and play them together! I have had the same computer desk for twenty years! Its full of swag stickers from past games and I have a collection of cool swag going back twenty years! I limit the time I let my best friend, my grandson, play and to buy a 300 dollar xbox vs a 2000 dollar computer, a 200 dollar desk, 300 dollar monitor with 1ms refresh times, and all the peripherals is a no brainer! Especially when I limit his time! He has math, science, etc to learn plus he needs his time outside to be a kid!
So a simple opt out function on the xbox, which many games with cross play before them did, is a much more viable solution than to ask 300k gamers to throw away their xbox and buy computers cause rare doesn't have the foresight, nor the knowledge to see why crossplay doesn't work in any competitive environment.
Ps. one of my other grandchildren is almost 4, I haven't bought an xbox for her yet! Though I like the idea that I could save 300 dollars and play with both grandchildren as is! I would still cross play in that situation!
@jumpiestdust213 I commented on what you said, but it was not ment just for you, but more of a general thing to people that read it. I do understand how people might want to just game on a console and don't care for playing on the ultimate system and they can say its enough with this system as long as they enjoy it, It's all fine and dandy.
My post was abit more off a troll rant post, but still some truth behind it, and Rare desided that crossplay was a bad idea, US players we know this allready that it's a super bad idea to have PC playing together with consoles as they standing right now, except to bring more people together, But well nothing we can do about it now.All in all I do feel for the console players that have spoken out and said that controller is the best way to play games tho, Finaly we got a game that can clear as day show them that thats not the case.

XBOX just needs to add thay KB/Mouse support they have been teasing for 2 years. Problem Solved.
yeah cause playing my xbox at a desk is my favorite thing to do, besides requiring every xbox user to go out and buy a keyboard and mouse after the release of a game to be slightly competitive is really bad idea. The solution is a disable crossplay function.
I like playing with PC players. Some of my friends dont have xboxes and we can play this game together. I mean if you get down to it, all an XBOX really is, is a PC with a locked down operating system. I dont mind playing SoT with a controller, and I do ok even against PC players. I havent really run into the hackers everyone keeps mentioning (not saying they dont exisit, I just havent seen anyone that was definitively scripting).
I think a solution is to enable mouse/kb for xbox for those that want it. If you dont want it you can keep plahying with a controller, I know I probably would even if the option were available. Have a nice day!
@goblobsters yeah I like the idea of crossplay, but instead of making everyone buy a keyboard and mouse, plus making the developers program the xbox version to accept a mouse and keyboard version on par with the pcs, wouldn't it be a simpler solution to have the ability to turn it off? its 300k xbox players adapting to one game on the xbox vs one game adapting to 300k players. This also still enables anyone to play crossplay anytime they want to play with there computer friends.

I play on both. The difference is huge. PC just wrecks xbox. It's hilarious running around a controller who can't turn fast enough, or turning after a lunge to find the xbox player still turning around.
It's a problem. Not because of cheats, but because KBM accuracy and reflex timing always has been and always will be superior to using a conroller.
I mean it's just laughable that nobody else notices this on PC hahahahahah
They notice. The good ones anyways. People coming from a FPS background such as counter strike like myself have a huge advantage. People who more casually PC game are most likely the ones disagreeing with you. Playing reflex shooters gives me, and plenty of others, a massive advantage in combat and maneuverability.

They wont do this for the same reason they wont do PVE servers. Whenever you divide a community up into smaller pieces via playlists you run the risk of destroying a section of the community and you diminish the player pool. Im pretty sure one of the design pillars of this game is this cross play functionality, and I believe that we will see more of these mixed platform games going forward. I am greatly looking forward to it myself. Its a long overdue convergence of gamers that have been too long apart.
I love the cross play. I bought my dad an Xbox one a few years back. He heard my younger sister talk about this game and was interested in it so I bought him a copy. Now me and him (he turned 59 this year) get to enjoy a game togeather like when I was a kid which is not easy to do since I do not own an xbox and he lives a few states away now. So yeah... I am glad that this game has cross play. And before you make assumptions about me no, I am not some kind of PC Elitest. The way I see it, we are all gamers no matter what platform you play on.

That's a false logic though, every session you play divides the whole community up into 24 people rooms. I feel sad if people are worried about not being able to find 23 other people to play.
Though I agree with you on cross play that its cool to be able to play with my pc friends on my xbox. There are other crossplay platforms before this, and in everyone there is an option to turn it off. Mainly cause of the competitive advantage a pc has over a xbox. Rare's lack of foresight in this area is the main issue, just because the lack the knowledge to see the problems that have been occurring doesn't necessarily mean they shouldn't remedy it.

Actually its not false logic. Its a stance that is in opposition to your own, but its not false. the servers and players in them are not static. SoT uses a cloud platform (powa of the cloud right?) that can move players from instance to instance on the fly (it will move you to a more populous instance regularly). You are not on a server with 23 other people, you are in a fluid instance with several other ships and change regularly.
We dont actually know how many servers there are or how many instances each VM is running, or even the logistics for when these zone mergers happen.
But when you put people into different pools in such an environment it would totally diminish the pool of valid transfer candidates for my vessel. To what extent is unknown, but it is certainly not illogical.
I get that you want them separated for your personal preference, and I am not saying your preference is wrong for you (it is not a preference I share, but that is another conversation). But it would ultimately be bad for the games community as a whole to break it up into little pieces.
Its not a big deal right now as there are 2 million players, but it will become increasing important to have that full player pool as populations ebb and flow between content releases and as the game ages and populations attenuate.

@bane-1gdt
Also SOT has not been cracked.
https://crackwatch.com/game/sea-of-thievesIts extremely hard even impossible to crack a game with online servers as you must logon to the server with an account, the microsoft one you purchased it with. If you do not have an account that you purchased the game with, the servers do not accept you and you cannot play.
Thats why when you load up the game the first step is "logging in" All of your progress is saved to your account, so how do you get a saved account from downloading a file?
Many multiplayer games have been cracked to the point where you can play the offline content, but as this game has none, your theory is flawed and you need some more research. Not sure where you heard that rumor but i wouldn't believe everything you hear.
- EVEN If it was cracked, the cracked players would also need privately hosted servers that would only be filled with other cracked players, which would be hosted somewhere not by game devs, so they would never get maintenance, be laggy as hell, and be filled with hackers. Not to mention your progress would never save, the game would break every update, you would never get the update, and each update would have to be re cracked.
Exactly. It's just baseless fear mongering by @Bane-1gDT . These are some pretty wild claims and they hurt the game tremendously.
Yes its all baseless wild claims to hurt the game:
@goblobsters no its false logic, that it will divide the community. You only need 23 other people to play the game, so even if the pool of players hits 24 you will still have a game to play. further more thinking that the game is one big community is false. Everytime you play you join a new server, with new players, this isn't one big server on the cloud. They could make pve only servers, non cross play servers, and keep the game pvpve as is and you would never see a difference until there are less than 24 people playing pvpve, pve, and non crossplay. If it ever got down to this, logically there probably wouldn't be a game nor support for it anymore.
furthermore, the community is apparently divided already! people are quitting cause of crossplay and because of the non pvp option. Its false logic to state that not doing something to please the different sides of the equation would strengthen the community.
@breadbanana12 no theirs no cheat on console as of yet, its harder as you cant download macros ect or anything really on to an xbox....

what does macros will provide to me? changing my action deafult button "f" for my extra button on my mouse ? okay.. it's "quicker" ? DPI ? yes I can turn 1800 times on a dime in les than a second but what about my aim? yes hacks are already made on the pc version but thats is because it's easier that's literally it. just like any online game it will come onto console go on GTAV right now and tell me there is no hacking issue.
@frunchtost You could also mention that on PC they can play with higher FPS on a high-end Monitor which allows them to have a even smoother View of the battlefield... to make the shoot even more precisely. Its a game, not even competetive. Have some FUN guys... its meant to be FUN (btw on PC you can run the game on a Potato Laptop with like 5fps, Whats with them? they're not complayning the game should be running on any device with 60fps!)

U are 30 maybe it’s time to left the game boy
I don't see how attacking his age is productive to the conversation at all..
it's hilarious watching the uneducated talk about macros like it would make them super awesome. Perhaps in world of warcraft, yes, macros can be very useful because you have to manage 20 actions - but in this? New levels of stupidity being reached.
I've hardly seen any PC elitism in this thread other than a few troll posts(which I can't blame them, OP is a total tool), no-one is seriously saying that a m+kb isn't an advantage - but I will say that someone who has gamed on a controller for years can still aim almost as well, if they are good. It's the same with m+kb users, you have some people with a fantastic aim, but you still have those that are terrible. Perhaps you want to split that as well? What about splitting up those that understand the sailing mechanics better?

wth is this guy for real? i mean jesus, i think cross-platforms are a great and unique thing to SOT. And as many other user's replied, get a PC or simply plug a mouse and leyboard to your xbox.
Do you have an Xbox one, plug a mouse in and see if it works... if it did I would be using it.
Then make complaint at Microsoft for hobbling your XBOX1 and creating artificial limitations.
I mean hell if the DREAMCAST was able to have a keyboard and mouse, the XBOX1 can.
As for the rest of your OP, its pure generalisation and fearmongering. YOU are the kind of person who will kill SoT.
@bane-1gdt said in Pc will kill SoT, I warned you.:
@cpt-rikari I've made it several times no one can deny that a mouse and keyboard is better than the controller. So until the playing field is evened out pc has no business on Xbox servers.
Well they can add keyboard and mouse support to consoles, but not sure what that has to do with SoT devs. In fact im decently sure you already can, though you may need an acessory to do it but my friends do it all the time.
Tbh, this game is super balanced. Yes keyboard and mouse can be better in some situations, but thats one of the flaws of a console.
If you choose a console instead of the superior Pc then your gunna have to live with sub par. (Ik that was immature but it isn't much different than his "were too good for pc players" comment from a so-called 30 year old.
@bane-1gdt said in Pc will kill SoT, I warned you.:
@frunchtost Minecraft is cracked and that requires a login
That game has singleplayer you sped. The cracked part is the singleplayer, the crack only makes it so you dont have to login and lets you access the singleplayer, but you cannot connect to any multiplayer,
I said this in my post as well, showing you didn't actually read it.
Before you spew random claims thinking you know it all, do a bit of research before making yourself look braindead. And, when someone makes a clearly thought out response with evidence, maybe read the whole thing before responding and yet again making you look braindead.
Im believing less and less that your 30.
I'm a PC player since I don't want to buy a console just for 1 or 2 games I would play on it.
I've seen Xbox players who completely owned Pc players in this game. How much does a keyboard and a mouse help you if you lack the skill to use it properly? If you can play well with a controller, you can go up against pc players with no issues.
Sometimes, I play SoT with controller too when I want to be in bed while playing. I'm terrible with the controls of a controller, but I got better at it.
So get better if you want to use a controller and be able to compete.

Sea of Thieves already has hackers, offering a compelling case against cross-play
