Mega Speaking Trumpet

  • This idea was a side comment by Zylbrad and Toddy Quest in one of their videos.

They made the side comment about the Sea Dogs tavern having the giant speaking trumpets on top of it. However, this structure should have a use or at least do something for the world. It could be fun to make the fort sound from it or legitimately use it as a global range speaking trumpet to organize random servers. If someone is misusing it there could be an option to mute the Global Voice in the options.

Last year with the Festival of the Damned we did Trick or Treat for it and had to advertise it with keeping someone in the Ferry of the Damned and this would have helped considerably with advertising it. This mega/global speaking trumpet could aide in organizing server wide events among ourselves which could result in ambushes or various activities.

  • Those trumpets are the ones that you heari n the arena during each time you get a notification about how much time you have remaining.

However in the adventure mode I'm not against an alternative use of those horns, they could be signals for people wanting to form fleets, challenge the server to a free for all or any myriad of creative things the community could come up with, it's a tool waiting to be given to the players.

I'd be more worried that it would be a tool for players to blast their hot mic with their dog barking in the background, shrill squealing or terrible music.

  • @d3adst1ck true, which is why I think it shouldn't be voice, but rather a preset sound you ask from an NPC that manages the horns. In any case, it has as many pros as cons.
