as we know its really hard to get alliance with friends to get in the same server and have a fleet of ships to help with shores of gold , forts , fishing ect my idea is to show what server ip or a name so you could send it to your pirate friends also could we get a option to see how menu is on the server?
Finding and adding friends for alliances
@squeakerchew
The only current way to organize a farming server is to server hop over and over and crossing your fingers that you land in the same server with your other ship, and begin attempting to take over the other ships on the server.
If Rare ever make this any easier, it should only be in the form of private servers that do not allow gold and reputation to be earned.
Would not need to show an IP. Rare could just implement one more step when readying your ship and inviting crew. The option would be selection a friend the same way who is playing Sea of Thieves. If there is room for another ship, your ship joins them on the same server.
That way it stays simple. Uses existing interface. Not showing IP helps prevent stream sniping issues.
It is an option I and many others have discussed and asked for a lot. Would keep more players sailing and family and friends more together.
The argument it hurts because it is farming is silly. It is also a bit selfish. Players more minded for PvP all the time just do not like it there could be players sailing they cannot reach kill and sink. Everyone is equal in level. The rewards are just cosmetics. The game has become heavily over saturated with voyages to get fast, easy gold and doubloons. Loot is floating and sitting everywhere now. All the in game NPC threats have been greatly tamed.
The sea not effect it would have on the game are positive. It would keep more players playing and sailing. It would bring more players to the game and keep them sailing. More people play and sail, more family and friends can play together, the happier we all will be.
So basically give a tool for Alliance server exploiters to have an easier time setting up their grind fest with no threat. Normally how they do it is going around asking people to join their little cult (usually on discord) and if you don't they'll try deceive you into inviting them to your crew then ruining your gameplay so you would leave via spawn killing, trolling and harassing.

Yes there are players who try to deceive and then bully their way into crews and on ships with intent to fill a server with an alliance of their friends. This is not that. That is wrong and such behavior should get them banned.
This is family and friends simply wanting to get together as with as many as they can just to hang out, sail, tell stories, and have fun.

I'm sure you mean it in this wholesome way but it would be a tool people would exploit to fill a whole server.
The answer is Online Private Servers. You set up your own game with the people you want to join.
This however becomes a PvE server as you basically remove any PvP threat by playing with family and friends. It would certainly popularise the game and I really don’t see why accomplishments on such a server wouldn’t earn gold or rep. What any individual earns has absolutely zero affect on someone else. The only objection you could conceivably have is petulance because something took you longer to earn and that would be super childish.
Of course, the PvE could be ramped up on these Private servers to ensure a challenge.
Can’t see it happen though. Rare tend to struggle with servers and I think this would be a stretch too far for them.

It's not childish in anyway it's valuing your own time and the effort put into it. When something is made easier the value of that achievement/accomplishment drops for example PL used to be experienced and respected, we are starting to see more and more noobs in purple clothes thanks to game being made easier. No longer is my time and effort that I put in worth as much.
Only way private/PvE server is acceptable imo is with no rep and gold. Every customization is given for free so no need to buy anything and it would be completely separate of normal mode. Basically just a mode to play around and do dumb/fun things with friends.
You’re completely wrong. Any achievements you complete in this or any other game have zero value to anyone other than yourself. If I achieve PL how does that have even the slightest impact on you? It doesn’t, at all, in any way.
It’s not about the game getting easier anyway. The longer the game exists the more players reach the top tier. Its even worse with SoT because it doesn’t rely on any skill, only grind.
No, you object only because you suspect that achieving X, Y or Z may have been ‘harder” for you so you resent others that get to wear a cartoon coat that they perhaps achieved quicker. Now tell me again that this isn’t childish.
No, the only objections are purely selfish and petulant. If a private server issued gold and XP it has no bearing on you. It doesn’t affect your game, your progress and because any perceived value in a commendation is entirely personal it doesn’t devalue that either.
I think you’ll find that commendations in general carry no kudos. All they tend to highlight is how much free time a player has.
All other ships on the server with only 6 ships should be potential enemies. Alliances are supposed to be shakey, not an extension of your crew. It removes a potential threat and adds an advantage of being part of a multi ship fleet, that will never turn on each other regardless of the situation.
People already complain about larger ships and now you want them to add fleets into the mix, while only having 6 ships on a server.
Sorry, but with the server sizes as they are now, I am against adding the option to create fleets with friends.
@x-crowheart-x i believe that in the long run it will not be good for the game. The core of this game is pvevp. I hate saying this phrase but it is called sea of thieves. This isn't maritime trade simulator. The devs have went out of the way to say they want there to be a risk involved with running into other players. full lobby alliance farming with the state the game is in today players can get pirate legend under a week maybe less. People would grind to legend get bored have nothing to do or no motivation to play and quit. Sailing with a full alliance of friends is an exploit. If you want to try and make a full alliance and everyone agrees fine. that being said be able to get all friends in a full server is an exploit.
@dadiodude i think if they do implement private servers it should be called sea of friends. The titles/names above character should be pink. I also believe events shouldn't be added to them and none of their cosmetics should transfer to adventure mode. Maybe even introduce leaderboards so they have to segregate adventure mode and sea of friends mode.

What? Of course it has value if you put time and effort into it. Yeah to you it might be just a "cartoon" coat but it was my decision to invest into it.
"All they tend to highlight is how much free time a player has" this is true but it's my choosing how I spend my free time, and that free time is worth something so why should someone be able earn the same stuff with less time and effort. And again it's not childish. Pretty sure your opinion is in the minority, or are you just going to call everyone who doesn't agree childish? If so I'd call you childish.
@dadiodude
Well i guess you think the devs are childish then. You already know for a fact Joe Neate said he is not ok with players having a place to farm rep and gold without the threat of other players.Private servers will happen. Wont be anything to gain but fun with your friends

You played and got what you wanted. Done deal, finished. Other people’s game has got nothing to do with you. Is anything easier? There are more threats now but some difficulties or frequencies are reduced. On balance getting to PL is probably just as much a ball ache. But seriously, please, just re-read what you wrote. Stop being so concerned about other people and what they want from the game and just focus on yourself.
@dadiodude Ah I see, Mr. My view is the only one that matters. Entitled stubbornness describes you very well. To me you are the type of person to result into insults when you know you lost and aren't willing to accept it. Very childish of you to belittle everything I say just cause you don't agree.

No mate. Rare can do as they wish. However, when the only reason for players “demanding” there be no gold or XP outside of current adventure and (laughably) Arena is that “blah! It took me longer to get to PL, blah! Too many people will have legend coats, blah! Players should be made to suffer and grind because I was, blah! It’s so unfair” and so on, I am anything but impressed or sympathetic. I think it’s a crass attitude particularly over a damn game. It does sadly reflect the general mood and attitude of a lot of players.
What I do contest is that if other game modes contribute to gold and XP (like Arena - a recent add-on) then what the hell does it matter? It just doesn’t.
This game is in constant flux. If players don’t like the fact it is constantly changing, tweaked, adjusted etc then don’t play. That’s just the other side of the sword that several on this thread proffer to people of opposing views.

Let’s digest this a moment.
I’m happy to let other players do as they wish.
You are not.
I don’t mind other players earning gold or XP in other modes.
You are not.
I don’t care if something is quicker or easier than it was when I did it.
You object strongly.
I don’t have a problem with someone wanting to play with friends or family.
You are not and demand restrictions. And yet, you label ME as entitled and stubborn.
And because of what you say you belittle yourself. I don’t put words in your mouth.
i dont see why everyone has an issue with privet servers ? the whole game is cosmetics for pirates and after a year of the game being out practically eveyone is a pirate lord
if people wanna have fun with their friends then why not give them the tools to do it?
and if you dont like the idea of privet servers then dont play on them
Rare is doing what they wish.
Seems they feel the same way we do.
No point in arguing with you.
Noones elses opinion matters but your own.
We all expressed why we dont think its fair you get gold or rep.We all earned it. With the threat of pvp.
Anyone who thinks you should be get rewarded for playing in a private server is missing the entire point of Rares creation.
@dadiodude Mhm, Typical passive aggressive poster. Yeah, I don't care too much. But your wrong for not wanting it this way!! You say "you don't mind" but clearly you mind if it's not happening. Then get into calling others childish for not wanting it your way. Like I'm sorry for not sucking upto to you. No wonder your rep to post ratio below 1.
The reason why i'm against private servers is not because others gain PL much quicker then i or my crew did.
The reason is because what are they going to do after reaching said milestone. They prob uninstall the game since they "grinded" their comms and are not invested in the game or it's community (like how it goes in the majority of the games nowadays)
I'm also a person who whould do that if i could have grinded in PvE. I'm sure i whould have been done with the game before the hungering deep, maybe checked that out abit and uninstalled it prob.
The reason i'm still playing the game since launch (1 evening a week) cause i fell in love with the game and the interactions in the game. (and still not done with all the commedations /shrouded ghost anyone?)

Rare made it a sandbox where we the players decide what we do in it and how we play.
state the game is in today players can get pirate legend under a week maybe less.
This is on Rare. It also has nothing to do with this option or the players who want it.
People would grind to legend get bored have nothing to do or no motivation to play and quit.
This has been happening since launch. All because of the content that Rare adds or does not add.
My spouse, friends, and I all reached Athena 10 way back into last year. Got there by sailing there. We still play. We play because we can play with family and friends. We do not play when we cannot play with them.
Yes Rare has made and keeps making content trivial, too easy, stale, and boring. We make the time spent worth it together. The more we all sail together, the more we will keep sailing. That is a good thing for us all.
Also has nothing to do with this option or the players that want it. It should not even be a concern for you. Other players getting bored and/or quitting is on them.
Sailing with a full alliance of friends is an exploit. If you want to try and make a full alliance and everyone agrees fine. that being said be able to get all friends in a full server is an exploitation
Sorry man, but way too much fear over something that should not be afraid of. Not everyone sailing on the same server with family and friends would always be in an alliance. Does not matter if they did. I know my group of family and friends would not. Sometimes yes, but we would have lots of events where we sailed against each other in teams.
We would not always sail in a full server. Depends on how many can be together and when. With it being an option in game anyone else could still join when there is room. This is an option for family and friends to sail together on Rare’s existing servers. Not talking about private servers.
Allowing family and friends to join with you on the same server is playing the game. In no way would their actions diminish or ruin anyone else's game play. The baseless main argument against this would be based on selfishness because someone does not want the other players to do it. Either just because or that person cannot do it.
The other which I am sure comes into play here with this option is ego. Some how having cosmetics earned in this game obtained in a certain way and what a person has and others do not, makes them better, special, etc. They do not want the other person to be able to obtain the same thing, especially what is perceived easier. The other is players who can only think of PvP and cannot stand it that there are players somewhere on some server they cannot reach which is ridiculous.
There is no risk in this game really. Most server sessions are and have been very empty for a very long time. Only a very small amount of people play this game as compared to all the other games out there. Yes, there are more ships on the sea for a few days around content updates, but they are few and far between. For many other players other players do not pose much of a risk anyway.
Rare has also nerfed everything to heck, players can sail around everyday without any true risk from NPCs. Now the game is over saturated with loot every way. Rare has already many months back put the game on easy mode. Rewards are so simple to get and a lot of it just being given to you.
Regardless, just because other players can join or not join is not an issue. There are servers with full alliances now. There are players that go around and forcefully harass other players to take over servers. Discord fleets arrange to take over servers. None of this matters.
Players are even sailing around in Arena “farming” rep and rewards. Not a lot play it. Most matches end up with just a couple ships, players quit leaving others to just win, all kinds of reasons players are getting things from Arena with no risk and basically for “free” as you seem to be worrying about.
This is asking for a legitimate way for family and friends to play together. That is it. It is not exportation. It is not cheating. It is not doing anything in the game that is not already possible to do since launch. It is only a way for people to play together and that is what this game is supposed to be all about.
So what if you could create private servers when you reach PL? That would solve the problem then? Or maybe You will recive the money from the NPCS in which you are already level 50?
I don't understand why the people is being so annoying with this thing. Its a game pvpve. YOU WIN AND YOU LOSE, LEARN FROM IT. WIN NEXT TIME.Idk, I dont need a private server to have fun! The only thing that I need is the Possibilty to "Join" friends who already have a full ship, by joining their server but with another ship. You are buying a game which is stated as a PVPVE then why you buy this?! I've lost all my loot a thousand times and of course I get mad, But you just can't Complain at devs for making the game as THEY ACTUALLY STATED TO BE THAT WAY.
Idk, its like going to Eiffel Tower and complain about the architecthure so the creator change his creation, WT*. If the devs want to put that feature, its cool, if they add that and you dont earn reputation nor Gold, Take it and dont complain. And if they make that feature with very low or a little reputation, take it and DONT COMPLAIN about it! Im getting so tired of seeing post of the same s***!!
For Kraken's sake...
btw this has nothing to be along with the original message from te OP, but as it has iniciated a discussion about this, I felt like giving my opinion. Thanks for your time.Yeeehaaa!!

You obviously haven’t followed many of my posts but it’s fair to say that my views aren't popular round here. At least with the “I’ve been here since beta and Rare’s vision is borderline biblical” brigade.
But I’ve consistently said the same thing. I personally don’t want PvE servers but I’m happy to acknowledge that many do.
I do think there may be merit in a campaign mode. Still MP but only for co-op but that’s another topic altogether.
Rare tend to change their mind. Who’d have predicted Arena as a fix to apathy. If they implement PvE then fine. Let people enjoy it. And let people collect gold and XP. What the hell do you use them for anyway.
So, don’t try to spin what you’ve put in print. You don’t want people to have something because you feel you didn’t have it. That is behaviour you’d expect from a child isn’t it.
As for rep, well I think mine is way too high. I have a diametrically opposed view to just about every regular here and I’m happy to post my opinion and give my justification for my views.
@dadiodude Looked up your stats, 25% done and you know what's best for the game? Like don't get me wrong the game needs noob/casual opinions as well. But casuals don't generally know what's best for the game.

Are you being serious, gamerscore. Is that what separates a noob from a “pro”. My, you do like your grind and repetition.
Theres very little I haven’t done in this game. Covered around 4M m and put in more hours than is reasonable. I lack the capacity to keep doing the exact same thing God knows however many times Rare tell us to in order to unlock a few G.
But that’s beside the point. The discussion here is “Finding and adding friends for alliances” and I am just as qualified as any to have an opinion. I understand that you’re scratching about looking for some ammo to perhaps deflect the debate but really!
