Ritual Skulls

    I’m here to talk Ritual Skulls on the Merc voyages. While I appreciate the increase in doubloons, having to buy multiple voyages to not even complete the main commendations is becoming tiresome. I’ve done 4 main region voyages and 3 Athena voyages which have only awarded me 4 ritual skulls. As a new player I can see this being enticing all this gold, doubloons, etc, but as a veteran player I only care about completing the requirements needed. I have over 1k doubloons and 15 mil gold. So having to repeat voyages to complete commendations that at minimum should reward us enough skulls to complete the main requirements minus the bonus legend ones is beyond annoying. I love the idea and lore behind these Merc quests, but the repeating of voyages is tiresome. 7 runs and 4 skulls and you want me to turn in 15 total?!?!?? Cmon guys! Think about your veteran players and what’s fun for us too please. We’ve stated on occasion that these repeat runs aren’t fun, please adjust the output of ritual skulls!

    As always though, I’m thankful for all y’all do and keep up the great work.

    Completely agree with you mate! It is being mentioned in many threads that these skulls spawn way too low. Especially for the time, costs, and rewards. The spawn rate needs be cranked up a lot.

    @oo-prentiss-oo we are at 1 skull for 6 quests of loot. we did our 4 and sunk 2 boats with full loot. this is going to be tedious.

    I'm at 5 for 3, so not so bad, but could still be better. Also, 15 ritual skulls? I thought you had to get 20 - 5 and 10 for OoS, and then 5 and 10 for the Mysterious Stranger (or Duke; can't really remember on that one since I just woke up and didn't get enough sleep last night).

    @captain-coel exactly. We’ve done 2 more quests since posting this and still haven’t gotten another RS. I’m getting annoyed.

    @galactic-geek Nope, just 15. 10 total to the Order of Souls and 5 to the Mysterious Stranger, but yea the sporadic nature of the skulls is frustrating.

    i think is good. had only 2 out f 7 voyaes until, but hey something to spend dubloons on and keep going instead of being done the first night :P

    @picklebeard22 It’s not about grinding out first day, even though with the main voyages I’ve completed all the other commendations. It’s annoying to have to purchase more quests with more doubloons to do said quests and not get the basic requirements needed for the main commendations. Needing to purchase extra for the PL ones is fine, but the 4 voyages not even giving enough to complete the basics is ridiculous. Sorry that I don’t like to repeat the same voyages over and over again and want to get them done so I don’t have to do them again. Plus, paying 5 Doubloons to get nothing is a waste of time. You want us to repeat these quests then quit making us pay to play.

    Furthermore, as an original PL10 who has over 1100 doubloons and 15 mil gold, Yea I get them done on the first day because everyone knows after the first day is when the campers, griefers and noobs come out to play. It’s annoying having to constantly sink people who are too lazy to do their own things and so they end up chasing you around for hours. I’ve almost 100% completed this game in its entirety so I’m not looking to waste time on repeat quests that offer nothing more than gold.

    I think we should get at least one guaranteed ritual skull and one guaranteed relic with a random chance to get a second skull.

    We need to find 5 different relics. Sometimes you get a relic you already collected. I believe with 15 voyages with a guaranteed ritual skull would be enough to collect all 5 relics

    @bugaboo-bill why do I want to spend doubloons on repeat quests? Why would anyone want to spend their doubloons on repeat quests that offer nothing more than gold rewards?

    3 voyages in, and still no eyeball - 55 dubloons if I can just get ahold of that thing!

    Looked at it again - it is 20! Altogether! The 5 count as part of the 10. So, it's 10 for the OoS, and 10 more for the MS, which adds up to 20.

    Ugh... Looked at it again a 3rd time - it is 15. 10 for the OoS and only 5 for the MS. I thought you needed 10 for the MS as well, but the icon only looks similar to the others - but it's actually a commendation for turning in 10 relics; not ritual skulls like I had originally thought.

    My crew and I have only completed 3 voyages and have received 2 Ritual Skulls, so I am not hating the drop rate thus far.

    From what I am seeing of other players, I am okay if the drop rate ends up being lower. We will have plenty of doubloons for voyages with the commendations and Reapers Chests, and plenty of other opportunities when we sink other ships.

    Yes we should not be spending doubloons to get voyages. Doubloons should only be used to unlock rewards.

    Completely agree with this thread, pumping out dubloons for a roll of the dice. Feels like a huge waste of time honestly. Done well over 15 runs, only gotten 7 skulls. Please adress this rare.

    @oo-prentiss-oo tbh it's annoying but just join an lfg that's doing the quests and they'll hopefully get the skulls then you don't need to buy the voyages

    i think the intention behind is to force us doin pvp? maybe i dosent seen it but we dosent get a title for complete the relic skulls,so there is no need to complete them.before i pay 5 dubloons to get 5 or ten back i go for reaper chests instead.

    The rarity is fine. The fact that we have to spend doubloons for a small chance to maybe get one is dumb.

    It helps now that we have a way to farm doubloons but you still have to do how many of these missions? There isn’t a guarantee that you will get a ritual skull. Repeating the same missions can get boring. I have mostly been doing the devils roar missions just because I have a better chance of finding ritual skulls.
