Question about Quest

  • So I'm returning after a long hiatus to check out the new content, I was just wondering if you get gold rewards from doing the tall tales/Shores of gold quest line or what a good way is to make money solo when my friends aren't on.

  • @legendarygrogg Fishing is your friend! Tall Tales are perfectly do-able solo, you just have to be a bit more wary of other ships lurking about.

  • @legendarygrogg fishing is a terrible way to make money. run solo merch quests or look for random loot or do skeleton forts.

    To answer your first qeustion.
Yes, the TallTales give 3k gold upon completion.

For a good way to make money solo, It really depends on your type of play style.
For me personally, definitely Devil’s Roar Gold Hoarder quests, they give out a lot of gold and if your lucky, you can get at least 7 quests in one voyage. If you want some advice, send me a reply.

  • I solo sloop exclusively, and I do gold hoarders primarily and skull forts. Obviously forts are more risk/reward but if you get the skills down for solo slooping you can make gold solo just fine. Also if your lucky and find a legitimate alliance ship you can really both benefit.

  • I would second the suggestion about Devil’s Roar. OOS are ridiculously easy in DR since geysers take out skeletons walking over them. Just get over worrying about death (you will die), take a rowboat, and stay ready to drop sails the moment the island starts to erupt. The benefit is that you earn about twice the amount of money for voyages in DR. If you are a pirate legend then Athena voyages in DR are great. You can make about 10 to 20 thousand an hour that way.

Fishing is not a good way to make cash. You make very little for your time. I also would not try forts. If you can complete it and turn it in then it is nice, but one player will usually have a tough time fighting off other crews if they decide to take over.

  • @Ghostpaw this is true about forts, I did not elaborate but the circumstances must be right and you really have to know the tricks and tips before bothering solo forts. Also, loosing a fort after solo swinging that sword for a long time can be a reality check.

I like the recommendations to try devils roar.

  • Do cargo runs and x marks the spot (4+ X's) only. You can get cargo at the outpost and drop the treasure hunt before you leave.

Cargo is 4-5k per run (usually only 2-5 islands away) and treasure will get you another 2-5k.

Also, check each island for random loot along the way.

  • I appreciate all the tips, time to make that gold. $$$$
