Now i understand its supposed to be Rare. However. I started playing when forsaken shores came out. I made it to the pirate legend. I am Athena 10 i have sailed nearly 100 million miles. Yet havent even seen this elusive megalodon. I know people who arent pirate legend yet and havent sailed nearly as much as i have who have found it and killed it. How is this possible? Im very dissapoined. It is the only one i want to see and kill. Is there any way you can up the percentage. Please. And thank you.

@cursedpirate79 some people claim a trick exists to make it spawn, but as many times as I've heard that claim, no one has ever explained the trick. I believe it's just completely random and some people are luckier than others.
It's human nature to look for patterns in things. To make sense of chaos. Someone could have seen it at a specific time in a specific place and then they decide that's where and when it spawns, but like I said, I'm sure it's completely random. It still needs to spawn somewhere sometime though and people start to think it's linked to something they did, but their aren't any real mechanics behind it. Just luck.
@testakleze I tried tricks, I sailed around in allegedly hot spots for hours, I stock piled loot as a claim was made treasure mattered... I spent hours on hours in multiple sessions chasing those tales of how to get her to show.
It is just RNG and unless someone can reproduce results I am fairly sure of this.
@Cursedpirate79 The Shrouded Ghost is actually a WereMeg...it only appears during a full moon....If it bites you, YOU become The Shrouded Ghost....the last person to be bitten works on an oil rig so only plays at odd times... so the chances of encountering them, during a full moon is slim...
It is just rare and random. I can all but guarantee there is no special trick to summoning it because if there were, someone would be likely be selling 'Shrouded Ghost spawns' on eBay.
@cursedpirate79 i think they should make the shrouded ghost an event. sure keep it rare in the wild but make like a monthly or bi monthly event where the shrouded ghost will be out in the seas. give it a lot of health and make it deadly, but let merrick give out a compass that leads to it and the whole server can duke it out for the kill. that would be awesome and still only allow one ship to claim the kill, but at least youd always have a shot at it garaunteed every other saturday at 8pm or something like that.
it would get the community going and be reminiscent of the hungering deep dlc except more of a fight than working together lol.

RNG cares not what level you are. I'm Pirate Legend / Athena 10 myself and I have yet to see it. It doesn't bother me because I know this doesn't (and shouldn't) increase my chances.
I personally love this mythical rarity of the Shrouded Ghost. It creates this fun sense of disbelief when people in the community talk about seeing it. And I love the way Joe Neate jokes about it on social media.
Commendation hunters and completionists will just have to get over this one, it's more fun this way!

The shrouded ghost, is a sea of thieves myth that rarely appears. I don't think it should be changed, as long as the meg is not attacking another ship in the game then yes, you have a chance at finding it. But when a meg spawns at you get it off of your trail by going to an island. The meg becomes an alive creature that patrols the area almost as if its waiting for you, and you can see it in the waters just moving around. These are the tales that I have experienced countless times before.
Firstly your miles are incorrect. Probably 10mill not 100 mill knowone in game has that and doubt it’s possible at this time.
However I’m one of those pirates who completed all commendations and when I put together all my game knowledge of this game I set out to get the Shrouded Ghost. I’ve been able to spawn it twice! Yes I have 2 kills of the ghost and screen shots to prove it and also vid. It was nerfed back from 50 to 5 and when this occurred they removed one of my kills. Still waiting for this to be fixed!
Have recently quit playing until this has been fix and the opt out are available.
As for how to spawn it I can tell you it’s not chance and it’s very very difficult to do. I would love to share how I approach this and yeah I could sell it on eBay but until myself and my close pirate friends have obtained the highest rarest title is sot Legendary Shrouded Ghost Hunter I won’t be giving the devs the chance to change what’s in place to prevent us from obtaining it. My tips are this......
Be extremely observant of everything in the game, there are definitely patterns to assist you in getting the ghost to spawn. It will only spawn in set areas, there is quite a few. It won’t be in the fog/shroud. It’s mainly a night shark as is the terror.
It can be canceled out when the setting is right and it’s due.. it can be canceled out by other ships. This is the hard part. I do believe it will only spawn once a month however this is only my theory atm and I will prove this or debunk it with more time.
It cycles as does everything in the game.
15mill miles sailed first kill second kill at 16mill miles now at 17mill miles sailed.
These are the basics of it. My game experience has led me to the kills, both times I was trying to spawn it.

No matter what anyone says I can confidently tell you it’s spawnable.
Just very very difficult.There’s a trick to spawning it! You got to pay attention to the game. There is definitely Patterns to follow. I’m the only player in SOT to have killed it twice ! Yes 2 times. I have the proof. The devs announced it on live stream as well that 1 player has killed it twice. Both times I was trying to spawn it. Took a few hours on both occasions. I’ve recently returned to the game after an extended break and intend to be the only player to have killed the Ghost 5 times. Good luck to you all. 🍀
No I won’t tell you how! Work it out yourself and call bs on me as much as you like.... my profile has the screen shots also posted in several places. A mate of mine also has the vid of us in battle and I’m already wearing the title.
