Can we please increase the prices of the fish?
I understand that you can freely fish with out the need to buy voyages. However the prices are far to low to make any progress in the Hunters Call.
I have caught hundreds of fish of nearly all types, rarities, trophies, and cook level and so far I’m half way through level 18 with Hunters Call. That is insane considering the amount of time I’ve spent just fishing (maybe 20 hours plus) with a full crew.
I think the “regular” fish such as splash tails and biome specific fish should be worth a few hundred each. Then the rare/trophy fish should be several thousand across the board. The most expensive fish I’ve sold so far was a fully cooked trophy snow wrecker that sold for 4690 but the rarity of catching something like that is so huge that I’d be surprised if I ever catch another. And the bonuses from the Hunters Call commendations don’t give you nearly enough experience. I’ve completed several sets of fish and reached grade four and five of probably twenty different types and it’s barely helped with my levels.
Also, with the other companies, as you level up, the items you find get better to the point that you’re almost guarantied captains chests or villainous skulls usually worth hundreds if not a solid thousand gold and you find multiples on one voyage but their doesn’t seem to be anything like that for fishing.
The main problem that is happening is the high teens/low twenties levels are as bad as the grind of the forties for the other companies. I would bet this is pushing a lot of people off of fishing once they start to see how bad the grind gets by levels 18/19/20 or so. The other companies, Gold Hoarders, OOS, Merchant, have other things you can freely do that help you gain much more gold and rep. Skeleton forts, Ships, and Fleets all help the grind well on to PL. However fishing pretty much has sunken ships to help you find any “extra” fish. But they are often burned or just regular easy to find things that don’t help the grind.
Again fishing is pretty easy and you can do it freely, but in the time it would take to do a Skeleton fort and earn several thousand gold and loads of rep for all three of the original companies, you’d be lucky to catch enough fish to make maybe a thousand gold and a fraction of a low level. And once you’ve caught a few hundred fish and completed most of the sets, there’s no real incentive to keep going if everything else you can spend the same time doing is hugely more profitable.
Please Rare, it shouldn’t take me the same time it took to get PL to get level 50 in a single faction.
