ok,so recently i have got a PS4 and its amazing but i cant pay for Xbox live and PS Plus so i think it would be worth it if you released on PS4 you would make money and you would give PS4 players this amazing game and i know there are some people out there (me included) who would pay hundreds for SOT on PS4 so please, please consider it.
PS4 Release (please do it)
@drizkillz Think they went back on that back during the PS3 era, you gotta pay to play online these days for sure.
@TruthfulList56 Yes'm, though that only applies for current titles released on multiple platforms, SoT still only exists on Microsofts, so before anything else they would also need to port it to the PS4.
It's a lot of money, to give their competition most of the profits.@mon3ym4k3er-53 if they put it on PS4 then that means it’s gonna be slight problem because pc and Xbox are both connected with the sea of thieves servers.
Give us The Last of Us: Part II and we'll consider.
In all seriousness, I'm just gonna sum up what everyone else said. Rareware is owned by Microsoft, Thus making it one of Microsoft's first party developers. Seeing as Sony has not been very lenient with the idea of crossplay (something both Microsoft and Nintendo have been hilariously poking fun at) I doubt that they'll ever consider a port to the PS4. Microsoft would lose profits on what is supposed to be their exclusive game, and there would be too many issues with crossplaying and servers. I don't see it happening, ever honestly.
Yeah that means more cross platform play, no thanks.
Besides, playstation has their exclusives (which sometimes came from pc originally or were created solely for PSN), and this game (unless I’m mistaken) was sort of released as a Microsoft exclusive.
Besides, if i can be honest I’m not sure if PSN would be able to actually handle SoT. It’s a massive game, and BO4 was just a tiny example as to how bad the stability is (PSN still gets blue screens and the crashes for Xbox has been diminished for months). I dont know if Rare is already working on making the game for PSN, but it will take a great amount of time to get it compatible with PSN.
Microsoft, and Phil Spencer specifically, have been pro cross-platform for the past few years, so I think that they might actually do it just to increase sails and the SoT community - both of which would be beneficial to us as the consumers. The only thing that would hold this back, IMO, is Sony's reluctance to accept cross-platform sharing.
