There should be rare massive storms with tsunamis which if you survive you get an achievement or a reweard from a mermaid or something.
Tsunami’s
Rather than a "proper" tsunami, I could see large waves in storms. If you ride into or with them, you can pass them without much damage. Being hit from the side would damage the hull. Additionally, such waves could wash up sunken loot onto the shore of any isle within the path of the storm or uncover loot on the beach.
I dunno, I think the current storms has waves plenty big enough for a thrill, and there's lightning damage as well.
@Sargent-Sully This mechanic is already in game, and works perfectly I feel. I can't really justify complicating it by tying the random objects to the storms specific path, as the current randomness and variety is quite plentiful.
