Hello Sea of Thieves people! My sister and I love playing your game! We've been thinking a lot about this idea, so here it is: Underwater Exploration! Imagine getting a map, that instead of having an island on it, it had coordinates (like B4 or H6) to the middle of the ocean. And when you reach the coordinates you must dive down into the depths and recover the lost loot. Now of course you would need something to allow you to get deep into the ocean, so we thought up the Banana of Sea Breath. The Banana of Sea Breath is a slightly rare and magical banana, which gives you the ability to breath underwater! (My sister wanted me to state that this banana should have a mermaid tail.) Another thing that would assist you in deep sea diving would be a tangible anchor. The anchor on your boat would no longer be a figment of your imagination, it would be a visible thing. So, when the anchor drops, you could watch it sink into the depths. This would not only be a pleasant touch of detail, it would also help with exploration of the depths. You could ascend and descend the chain of the anchor like a ladder! (But maybe a bit faster.)
Now in each of the four areas (The Shores of Plenty, The Ancient Isles, The Wilds and The Devil's Roar) there could be different underwater "biomes". For The Shores of Plenty the underwater world could be beautiful coral reefs and bright water. These reefs wouldn't be too deep, and it would always be bright. For The Ancient Isles there could be underwater temples and mystic ruins, with lots of sea weed to obstruct view and give everything a green tint. For The Wilds the sea bed would be the farthest down, being dark and eerie. These waters would be dangerous, with skeletons from past wrecks and viscous sharks to worry about. The Devil's Roar would be dangerous because of underwater volcanoes and the sand would be black like soot.
Maybe there could also be some sort of underwater outpost, where you can buy decorations for your ship or skins for your gear from mermaids! (Or something like that.) This would also open up the door to new kinds of chests like the Sharkchest, which swims around underwater. (I'm not very good at coming up with stuff like this, so cut me some slack.) You guys can come up with more loot, cuz that's all I got.
Another thing that deep sea exploration would need is another sea monster! Think of this: a giant crab with a shell littered with shipwrecks and tons of loot! (See Tamatoa from Moana.)
With the addition of all this new space, there also must be some marine life to inhabit it. Things like whales, dolphins, and giant sea turtles! This could also add a few creatures for Merchant Alliance quests: fish to catch in fishbowls, and crabs to catch in crab baskets.
I know that some of these things are not exactly pirate like, but an update containing things like this would really set the community on fire, and it would add a lot more to explore in the wonderful world of Sea of Thieves. Thanks for reading, and peace out!
