Bilge rat commendations

    So, I have two points I need help with...

    This account is old, it was used during the beta and I've played sea of thieves on/off since before release...

    Now I've decided to put some more time into the game I've noticed these bilge rat missions from Duke, and been told they are super fun.

    I have also been told that people received complementary bilge rat commendations to purchase their first mission from him.

    My account had received none at all, now I have absolutely no idea how to even start doing this kind of content.

    As a returning player, I think the new content is terribly explained and I have literally no idea what to do outside of the previous content, i.e. Gold Hoarders, Merchant Alliance and Order of souls missions...

    This seems like a gross oversight and is putting returning players like myself off coming back.

    Another oversight and my second point is this forum, the login button has no "login with different account" option, so if you log in with an account, you need to clear your cache before being able to login with the correct one.

    Another option is navigating to the live.co.uk site, logging out of the account you signed in with then logging back in with the account you intended, then returning back here and refreshing the page.

    I suspect this is due to Microsoft web-services being shared across their IP's.

    This is just another frustration on top of trying to get a frustration solved or at the very least answered.

    If you press either Tab or the button with the double squares (Xbox controller) and then go to Reputation, you can select the Bilge Rats and view a plethora of challenges you don't need to purchase to undertake. Completing most of them will earn you Bilge Rat Doubloons!

    @xixxo123 Most of the past events you spoke to Duke and he gave you the mission with some instruction or a clue as to where you needed to go next. As of now all you have from him in that sense are the Mercenary voyages and the Reaper one (both new as of yesterday). But you can get the other commendations for the past events, many of which will yield more doubloons.

    What you need to do is hit the menu button and tab over to the Reputation screen. When there, click on the Bilge Rat commendation page. This will bring up all the different events sections released, if you click on each one they the specific commendations and requirements will be shown (as well as what doubloons you'll net for completing the task). You can get BR commendations for visiting each island in Devil's Roar, killing different Megs and the Kraken, turning in Mermaid Statue gems, sitting on the skeleton thrones and many more - some yield doubloons, others do not (the Devil's Roar ones I mentioned are quick and easy to pick up, 5 doubloons per island visited).

    But I agree that much of this game can be difficult for new or returning players due to the lack of instruction. A printed or pdf manual would go a long way to help many people starting the game or returning after a long break.
