I've kind of been thinking of what challenging PvE activities are currently in the games, and I can only think of boss fights. However, these boss fights seem to only take place at sea, and I'm certain I'm not the only one that can think that these boss fights could be easily expanded upon.
There are a countless amount of creatures or people that could be used as a boss fight that would be a lot more interesting than random encounters at sea (i.e Kraken and the Megalodons). These bosses could come in the form of Giant Crabs, NPC Human bosses (Possibly NPC pirates stationed at an island that you can fight that are more versatile than your normal skeleton), and anything, really.
That's my pitch, but I had the idea of using certain geographic features of some islands such as the Sunken Grove; devs could possibly implement some sort of tentacle monster that comes from the center pool, or maybe some corrupted siren that summons things around the pool (Skeletons, falling rocks, anything really) if you go down to said center pool. A lot of the islands in the Sea of Thieves world have their own twist that could have different boss fights specific to them that force you to think of how to you can use your environment to your advantage.
I'm sure I'm not the only person that thinks this would be completely beneficial to the game. Before I do finish up this suggestion, don't be afraid to give ideas of how this could be implemented into the game and specifically types of bosses, etc.
