Ever since this new update hit, the spawn rate for the kraken has been way higher than normal, every single game sessions I've had since the new update I've ran into the kraken, what's worse is it's not just the kraken to deal with either, 9 times out of 10 it'll be the kraken along with a megalodon or cursed ship or all 3 at once to fight at the same time, this is unbelievably unfair to players in sloops, this isn't a case of skill this is just way too many enemies at once that are impossible to deal with at the same time, most of my treasure has sunk at the bottom of the sea because of this and it's honestly turned me off from playing, I had a year long break from this game until my friend reccomended I played it again with them, I was having a lot of fun before the update

Same thing for me. A Kraken and a meg at the same time. I got sunk then 5 minutes later Skellie ship came out of now where. It does make it a very interesting challenge for a solo sloop player. I played for about an hour and a half and never had a Kraken or anything else the rest of my game play. Just luck of the draw.
I don’t feel like it is totally luck of the draw. I think - just based on personal experience - there are certain places where it is more likely to spawn. The post-skull-fort zone is one wherever on the map it just was. Between Sanctuary and Lone Cove I feel like I’ve been hit a bunch. Midway between Morrow’s Peak and Ruby’s Fall too.
@ajm123 I was hit by the Kraken twice, within the span of about an hour and a half; all on the same server. Now in two hours time (my last play session), I was hit by two Krakens, two Skelly ships, and two megs. At one point it was a Kraken and a Meg, with a Skelly just outside of the ink.
It is random, but I think they may need to change something.
How is the Kraken's difficulty determined? Is the Kraken's difficulty based on location or the number of crew going up against it?
I was on a brig with 2 other Randoms and we got our butts handed to us. A few days later I was solo sloop and got attacked by the Kraken, and defeated it without much trouble.
i got 2 spawning skelliships in 30 minutes yesterday,while i fightet the skelliship a second roaming sailed through our battlezone and got triggered and for the final the kraken joined the battle,i got 2 skelliships and a kraken but i won with 6 planks left,3 skelliships and one kraken in 30 minutes
@asrieldreeamurr Man I need to join your crew, I still need my 10 kraken kills and last week I only saw 1.
Just keep the boat repaired and head out of the ink to escape the Kraken. Since they nerfed the Kraken it is even easier to escape. Just stay below as much as possible to avoid the vacuum. Head straight to an island to lose the meg. And the skeleton ships have been heavily nerfed since the last update. I doubt I went through 10 cannonballs before the last one went down. If you are getting overwhelmed by multiple enemies, lose as many as you can and take out what is left. One player with plenty of planks can be hard for the environment to take down.
I agree... I think after you hit two consecutive forts, and then go to turn in the spawn rate is extremely high. The kraken spawned for me 5 times yesterday and I lost every battle. The kraken should be something extremely rare and you should get more loot from it. Nothing worse than going to an outpost to turn in and then a kraken spawns and deletes your ship.
