Retractable ladders

@nycthelios To me personally i see that as a very very bad idea thing is right having a ladder that is always there on ur ship is not a problem if you're careful i've seen many people sneak on ships i've done it a couple of times myself but it has never happend to me not once has someone gone up the ladder without me knowing they're there due to the loud audible water noises that they make when they get out of the water and into the ladder
So let's say they add a retractable ladder right you keep it down for 90% of the time you see a ship chasing you everyone just goes alright boys HANDS ON DECK takes off all the ladders and the ship that's chasing you has no possible way of getting on the ship other than sinking it or ramming into it and getting up and ramming a ship can prove to be pretty damn difficult if the person you're chasing knows how to steer the ship a little now that's my take on it other people might feel differently but personally this is how i feel about this idea
To sum that up it makes getting away easier when it's already hard to catch people
