Hi guys,
Just picked up the game today, and i'm struggeling a ton vs the kraken monster.
Im playing solo with the small boat, and the kraken keeps showing up every hour or so. 3 times it destroyed my boat allready and its quite frustrating losing all of my chests to this thing. Is there any way to avoid this guy, like a tell that he is infront of you or something? Killing it seems quite impossible, i run out of planks pretty much after 2 minutes.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Nope. Unless it has already been triggered and is shaking its tentacles out of the water at another ship, you won't know until the sea turns black, your ship stops and you are engaged. The trick used to be just take out the tentacles in front so you can sail away without taking out all of the tentacles.
It's possible to sail away from the Kraken once it attacks you your ship just travels much slower and you'll need to keep your ship safe.
Also once an hour seems very unlucky, me and my crew hope to encounter the Kraken but it rarely shows up for us
I got you homes. Here’s the deal. The kraken can only take you down if she gets you out off of your ship. So if you hear the sucking noise then get down below. Idk if it’s just me but she seems to always wrap me up after she fails to suck me up. So be wary and don’t get locked out of your downstairs by the wrap. And when you do get wrapped don’t bother fighting the wrapped tentacle on the ship. Shoot the tentacle closest to the ship that weaves back and forth. That will make her release you. But Things will go a lot smoother if you can shoot the tentacles that spawn next to you b4 they attack you. And most of all keep your sails down and a straight course if you really don’t want the confrontation so you can sail to safety. But each tentacle can drop like literally anything so you might want to take a shot at her if you have nothing to lose. Good luck out there!

I dont know about the sloop, but the Kraken will suck you out of your lower decks when sailing on the galeon.
@sorned i have a video of a sloop fighting off a kracken and a skeleton ship in a storm the guy survived. It is just incredibly hard at times he said

There is an event going on right now that requires you to kill the kraken 10 times. The spawn rate is high right now so people can get the commendations.
I am a solo player and I don't have a problem beating the kraken on my own.
@sorned ill the video of it when i get a chance i was on a galleon watching we were amazed when we went over and he hadnt sank
@sorned Ugh! These are some mean monsters. I really hate it when a megalodon shows up, or even having the triple threat - Kraken, Megalodon, and a wandering skeleton shop. Been there, done that.
If I don't get interrupted by other encounters, I can survive a kraken attack. I wanted to kill one so I did something different. I raised the sails of my sloop and hid below decks. But oddly, every so often if I am on deck the kraken sucks me off the shop, dunks me like an Oreo cookie, and I kid you not - Puts me back on my ship. I have had that happen twice, maybe three times. I have a XBox Live video on it some where.
Anyway, I manage to survive by doing a lot of repairing and bailing, and shooting below decks and if possible a few cannon shots. At some point the kraken will leave on its own.
