More Incentives, more PvP, more to do...

  • There's of course nothing against more quest types or things to do in the Sea if Thieves, but i constantly see posts asking for more incentives to play the game.
I assume mostly from gamers working 5+ hours on a game instead of playing one or the other day.
If i read that people are bored, but "worked" torwards PL A10 i ask myself if they are serious?!
They play tons of hours and grind and exploit the game in the way of chest tapping and stuff like that just to get that reputation or title and then complain about repetetive fetch tasks?!
    LoL are you serious?
I am tempted to say: get a life, but i wont judge anybody, but can you see you are exxagerating about playing a game?
Can you see that also "normal" players have fun playing games and dont want to compete with people sitting 24/7 in front o their screens?
It's not Rare's Job to fill your life with a meaning, their Job is to sell this game to as many players as possible and make it fun to as many players as possible, so finding the mediocre.

There is absolutely no cause to add more commendations or +1 stuff or incentives to pvp or whatever.
    Absolutely not.
Until it's also no more neccessary to tone down something.
Prices and commendations are adjusted based on feedback and statistics.
Those complaining are loud and angry, nothing more.
They react as if they were 5yo kids not allowed to watch TV more than 1 hour.
    Again, are you serious?
I often hear we or i are dedicated to SoT.
I'm dedicated to SoT too, i play a lot, ask my daughter, i'm an addict in her eyes, because i play almost every day for 3-4 hours in the evening.
But i recently didnt play for 5 days due to RL and just taking a break.
I'm barely PL and i dont care.
I dont want the cosmetics, not my style.
I sometimes want to play only for pvp reasons, try to plunder someone.
I more often play pve and ally up.
I do what is fun to me, i dont work the game or exploit it. I just play it like it is intended.
    Tap a Chest? No
Give up on a riddle because "it's not worth it"? No
Buy through Merchants Quests to get a golden chicken? No

Ok to be fair. I sail with others doing so sometimes, but i for myself wouldn't care.
I dont care if things are effective, i mean i play a game.
This is not e-sports or something serious to me, it's just a game and i want Rare to stick with their philosophy about this game.
I hope they will never change it.
    People leaving?
Good, maybe some new captains enjoy the more relaxed situation after the "gamers" who smoke up content in one day and left don't hassle them anymore.

Yeah i'm casual, i dont work games and i really, really like it that SoT doesn't favor hardcore gaming.

To normal players there is enough content and incentives, enough pvp, pve, enough fun and challenge.

I hope Rare will never fall for hardcore gamers what are never satisfied because they seem to compensate stuff they are lacking in life. Endlessly.
Otherwise i cannot explain the time they spent gaming and the exxagerations i read in the forums.

  • @stundorn I like to say I congratulate you on speaking out about this subject. In the shortest amount of words I will try an conva my thoughts in this matter. Tho I would love to hear more but this might not be the place for such. I myself fallow the idem "play to the end". Meaning you play out whatever may come of your choices, win or lose this is the path I took. The sad fact is this world in the nutshell will never in there minds welcome or understand similar thought such you an I. It is not about the path but only the reward they care an will care about. In short GREED is an all the factor that plays most here. They can only see what they can have an not what they should be working for. I have said befor an I say now the community nah the world has made it clear it wants it's shinny trinkets not the true treasure of this world you stumble upon.

Well sir I have barked you ear enough I wish your hull fair seas an you sails always be full. good marrow dear sir
