After much anticipation the delayed Forsaken Shores finally arrived.
Had a laugh as always with @Stacky-a & @Tartansnake-8 and was pleased to finally meet @KnifeLife in the game. Although you really have to listen hard to distinguish Tartan & Knife from their very similar accents.
The lads took a while to enter the game so Stacky and I loaded up supplies and set sail. In typical fashion she fell overboard about 3 seconds after leaving the dock. lol Never fails. :o)
So I turned full port to loop back and pick her up. With the helm fully locked the galleon must have made 20 "donut" circles and continued to rotate on that same path even after all four were onboard for some time.
We finally headed East by South-East to the Devil's Roar.
KnifeLife and I cannoned over to check out the sea port along the way and spoke with the shipwright. You MUST try it, well worth a laugh.
We saw three boats docked side-by-side at the outpost and joined them. They all seemed nice and friendly rowing the boat inbetween and around the parked ships.
We had some shipwreck loot onboard but none were concerned so we all left our boat to go shopping.
Between us we fitted the galleon with the kraken livery sails and figurehead and continued to shop. I bought the kraken peg-leg but I was unable to fit it as it never showed in my vanity locker. Another of our crew (Knife I think) also bought it and was able to wear it without a problem. I rechecked the store catalog but it was definitely purchased with a green tick overlay. I looked again when on the ship but it still wasn't in my locker. Hopefully it will appear when we play later on today. My kraken figurehead worked without incident.
The volcanoes are great, the geysers are great but they can get a little annoying when you're trying to dig up a chest.
Good job Rare, a long time in arriving but you nailed it.
We found a rowboat and had a bit of a ride back to the galleon. I became glued to the seat.
My keys and mouse didn't respond to anything except to pan my view around. Although we had plenty of laughs through comments we made.
It got beyond a joke when after 5 minutes of trying every key and mouse button, Stacky raising and lowering the boat many times, and I still couldn't move, extract a weapon or anything.
It probably would have been a game breaker in a PvP situation.
Stacky jumped in and rowed the boat away from the rear of the galleon and I was finally able to disembark.
We cashed in and as it was after 1:30am here and 11:30pm for Stacky, we called it a night.
Not sure how the lads did after we left but would like to hear about it.
Edit: Another thing that was pretty unusual was finding so many quests in barrels. Our quest radial was three pages full and we hadn't even proposed a voyage.
A captain's chest from the new region paid $1,700+ while a new crate type "Ore" only paid $600+.
