How Would You Like Gold Back For Your Unused Clothes?

    As I'm sure all of us have made some mistakes when purchasing some new "swag" to change up the style of our pirate. Whether it was an impulse buy or an accidental purchase I think the game would benefit from some type of return system. I believe it would be a welcome addition to allow some players to get back a % of gold for their unused apparel. alt text

    For example, the other week I was taking a look at some of the ghost gear in the Legend Hideout. I accidentally spent around 53K on the ghost dress. Now there are a few dresses, maybe 2 or 3, in the game that actually look decent on a guy. The Grand Admiral dress for example is one of my favorites because it makes me look like a character from Assassins Creed. The ghost dress on the other hand is strictly a style I can only see on a lass.

    I'm never going to wear that dress and I'm sure you have something in your inventory you wish you could return as well. My suggestion is not a full refund but why now implement a system where if we choose we can get perhaps 25% of our gold back for something we bought. I would not extend this to shipwright sales though. But clothes yes, I think it would be nice to get something back.

    @dcr-lt-kanada Because everything you turn in the game grants you gold, you have no expenses in the game and the only thing you can spend that gold on the cosmetics, I say no.

    Also, I don't see any logic behind treating shipwright stuff and cloth differently. Either both or none. "None" get's my vote, though.

    @crimsonraziel I envy you if you feel you've never wasted gold on something. And I only excluded the the shipwright because ship decals are unisex and you get a pretty good look at what you're buying. Plus you can make many combinations.

    @dcr-lt-kanada I never wasted gold? I spent at least 2.5 mio on shipwright stuff I didn't use once 'til the present day.

    Nope, No refunds on stuff. Some day soon, you might be able to create a female pirate in addition to your male pirate.

    @crimsonraziel Well I know people that have voiced their concern about clothing not looking the way they thought it would so although you may not feel it necessary I know some that would benefit from it.

    @sprungnickel427 If this comes true then yeah definitely. If we could switch between the two that would personally solve one of my issues, I'm not sure about others though. Also that's why I suggested the 25% so it's not a full "refund". That way it's not abused.

    @dcr-lt-kanada I’m not sure how the shopkeepers will feel about you returning their clothes with seawater, banana stains and unknown cartilage riddled throughout them but you could try

    this is a game about collecting cosmetics...why would you return your clothes? my crew and I choose a different theme for our outfits and ship liveries every time we load up.

    There were dev vids where there was discussion of being able to edit your Pirate. Perhaps a sex change or multiple characters as options would be addressed down the road.

    A no from me.

    Gold is hardly difficult to come across. Even mistaken purchases will soon be recouped in a few voyages as you level up.

    @dcr-lt-kanada I would also vote no to this; you'd return everything you aren't currently wearing / had equipped.

    I would suggest instead a "try it on" / "see how it looks" feature; where you can preview what you're wearing whilst still in the shop (if you leave the shop though it gets removed) or preview sails / hull until left the shipwright (or you raised anchor).

    I'll add that I think it's important to be able to see how things look in the game running round / emoting and not in a menu; You'd feel less cheated

    @dcr-lt-kanada i am currently trying to buy every single cosmetic in the game, allready done with 2 out of 3 shipwrights and 1 out of 3 clothing shops.

    I dont see any use in a refund feature even if it gave you back 100% of the gold. In your case a 53000 gold dress, i earn that amount of gold in a 2 or 3 hour playing session.

    I set sail at least Every wednesday and since reaching legend there hasnt been one wednesday where i didnt log off around a 100k richer then i was before.
