So I have seen the complaints here and have fell victim to this myself. The Brig should not be able to keep up with the Sloop against the wind. I just had about 7-8k worth of loot on my sloop and had a brigantine chase me for a good 30 minutes. I am solo slooper so I placed my ship with the wind in my face and during the chase I gunpowder kegged them, dropped their anchor, and they got attacked by the meg... but they still managed to catch me. How??? What else can I do? I feel I am an experience player who always watches the horizon and am able to pull off defensive counter measures like anchor-dropping/gun-powdering but after all that I still lose everything?
Can I suggest that solo sloops are even lighter and are faster against the wind since it would be one less crew-mate? Let's give these Brigs an actual challenge and not just make sloops easy prey. I never had issues with the galleon catching me on my sloop.
