Pirate job board.

  • Love the new content.
But when it’s 3 nights and 3.5 hrs each gathering resources coordinating my young mates to do the work and the server is damn near dead. We catch a glimpse here and there of ships and try to interact or catch them in attempt to form an alliance. After traversing the whole g*****n map hitting every skelie ship fight and not a damn person around to help do the encounter.
Why not have a bullitan board at the outposts to view a boat # count on server and send a pidgeon or some damn thing as a request to form a group or send an actual message.
What player group are you catering to?
I don’t have 10hrs to burn a week toward this. How can I look forward to new future content that’s time sensitive when
what I could be doing now is almost impractical.

  • While i would defintly like a log of somekind to note player and ship count on the server. I think it would help you if you tried a service like LFG or Discord even xbox clubs. This might improve your experiance.

  • Discord is going to help you, if you are using "open" crews...good luck, you'll spend 1/2 hour explaining wind let alone skeleton ships. Huge uptick in new players recently. Which is good, but for veterans during an event, cumbersome.

Don't bother too much with supplies with a like minded crew. Just have them shoot over to islands and barrels along the way and catch mermaids, maybe one good fort stop (4 corners) the others have weird layouts and not so much in cannonballs and planks.

Get there at the beginning of the in-game date and you'll find crews with sails and alliance offer up.

Don't be discouraged. Seems your supplies gathering time is pulling you down a bit from alliance making. :)

    @enf0rcer
I can hand someone a cannonball.
    I can't pin a alliance message on a board in a tavern.
Just saying, for me when i have to resort to using other apps to enjoy a game it starts to turn me off the game. Especially when i factor in the cost of the game.

I think you misundrstood my post I totally agree with you an option like this should have been avialible day one. Till this day no one can offer up a decent argument agianst it. I was simply offering you a work around.

  • @sardukar1234 said in Pirate job board.:

Alliance should be ended by both ships having their flag changed. Sneak aboard the other ship and change their flag while changing yours as well. Until it changes, im not a fan.

I hope some half decent crew joins your alliance and keeps coming for you until you leave the server and wish you had thought that through earlier.

No srsly this idea is bad.

    • If other crews need to affirm your wish to leave the alliance, you've introduced a new way to grief.
    • If other crews can change your pennants, I can already see the outcry on the forums.
    • You've also limited the options to breaking up the whole alliance.

And for what? Preventing pirates from acting pirate like in a pirate game?

  • I understand it’s a pirate game and Rare can strive to make it realistic in the sense of having to not communicate like in the 21st century. Not make it easy and allow pirating behavior to sway a players moral. But until you’ve played with young people who loose it all because people aim to be toxic then you may not empathize here.
Server selection with carebear settings may not be out of order.
Catering to the hardcore will only kill the future player base which = $$$

Lol. All the loot on a server belongs to me. I will sink you for supplies, loot, and for fun. I will sink you if your in my alliance. I want 100% of the coin.

  • Regarding the original post (and not whether the game should have carebear servers):

I really like the idea of a carrier pigeon idea. Like, you could send out a tweet-length message to specific regions or the whole server saying what you want to do. It would have a delay, so that it doesn't just turn into server chat.

I also like the idea of a job board with boat count listings, though I think any other info should be opt-in: you could post on the board that you were LFG and for what content and now it would show your region or something.

To the idea of Discord or whatever: One of the best things about Sea of Thieves is that its so immersive. I agree that you shouldn't have to chat in Discord for a while before you can play the way you want.

  • @sardukar1234 said in Pirate job board.:

@crimsonraziel The original post is that we want some sort of message system to make alliances. Pigeon, Notice board at an outpost etc.

ooh, a notice board would be pretty cool.

  • @sardukar1234 If you don't trust them, don't let them join. It's entirely your fault if you get screwed over. It doesn't matter if someone is in your alliance or not. Changing loyalties some core aspect of pop culture pirates.

  • Kind funny how I posted this and shortly after a YouTuber posts a vid exclaiming the same context.
We need a more immersive social network in game. Community and LF group related means to connecting with people.
I’m certain they could code a crew to be unable to change another ships pennant.

  • Forget messenger pigeons - give me a conch that will call upon messenger dolphins or sea turtles...
