Existing Lore On Skeletons (Pirates Of Old)?

  • Ahoy!
I've been meaning to ask this, since long before Wanda developed her little, err, skin problem...

Is there existing lore / details about how the skeletons have come to be?
Is there information in the existing lore book (I'm finally getting that next week - for me birfday!)?

There's a part of my pirate's story that involves someone becoming a skeleton, so I've always been wondering, but never remember/bother to get around to asking about it...
UNTIL NOW!! (best read in a Gauntlet: Dark legacy narration voice)
    ;D

    May fortunes be with ye!

  • I believe it’s a combination of the ancient magic that permeates the Sea of Thieves, combined with their all-consuming greed.

So eager were they to sacrifice everything for just one more piece of eight, that they sacrificed their humanity and mortality, just so they could cling to their ill-gotten gains.

Now, with Cursed Sails, I bet they take to the seas again in revenge for us stealing their bounties and their secrets.

  • @pdt-mindstream well the pirate lords crew were the first people on the sea of thieves and his crew turned into skeletons

  • Something skelly related is possibly being caused by unearthing a chest of flamehearts. That’s the most recent thing I could find. Apparently it’s the reason for the new cursed ships.

Hah! Well, isn't that perfect timing! ;D

Nice. I need to visit your site more often.

I've not been allowing myself enough time to delve into the lore, and such, in Sea Of Thieves (though, I have been doing my best to keep somewhat aware).

I was just really curious how much is detailed in the lore book. I think I can see what's coming from there, in what you detailed.

Sounds about what I imagined - and loose enough that there are gaps and openings for various methods.
