Barnacles

    Barnacles in the ship I think is a cool idea to be added.
    Older ships have many barnacles, new ships have some and recent ships don't have. If you sunk or scuttle your ship, reset.
    Those how don't like to have barnacle in the ship just disable or something like this.
    If you see a ship in the seas with very much barnacles, that is a ship that survived many battles!

    This is a NEW & INTERESTING WAY to tell if a ship is new or old to the server.

    This is a great idea, but there shouldn’t be a big amount of barnacles on a hull as they would hide the design.

    @k7-dart Thanks, but for this is just disable many barnacles, or you can even swim and clean some of then.

    Yes, but they shouldn’t effect the hulls design because many pirates would like the idea but not the consequence for it

    @k7-dart I mean the hull designs aren't that in depth atm... and they can always introduce ways to remove the barnacles.

    And if they don’t like them barnacles, they can scrub ‘em off.

    Very cool Idea! Adds Depth.

    There would be little patches of barnacles you could scrub off with a short animation doing so.

    At first read I thought this was a really cool idea. It still is but then I thought that patched up cannon holes kind of do this already in a similar way.

    @kzoo-kid My idea is from server to server, and just reset when someway you sunk.
    Like Davy Jones, his ship is a great barnacle.

    Very good idea @xPhelipe, sailing on a clean ship like SoT's ship is not sailing like a real pirate!

    Maybe they could add some hanging seaweed too. and the barnacles dont have to occupy alot of the ship, just the lower deck at the water line. Age related growths are a great idea.

    @ii-vortekz-ii Thanks, seaweed is nice too. And the barnacles you can choose if they are on the waterline or above.
    But you need play to have this, a free item based on survive time.

    @xphelipe which brings up the larger issue of ship maintenance. Things like swabbing the deck, painting over holes/repairing cosmetic damage, scrubbing barnacles, would be a great side mechanic for RPers.
