Can you please another cannon to both sides of a sloop. The galleon has 4 on each side because it has a max of 4 players. I assume the new ship is going to have 3 on each side. It only make sense for the sloop to have two on each side.
Sloop cannons
@madoubledog Can we see this said video? The brigantine has two cannons like how @triheadedmonkey mentioned.
@madoubledog Not cool. No need to be rude, Ant Heuser Kush was correct. I've never seen a video or any media showing three cannons on one side of the sloop. All released media showcases the brigantine with two cannons on each side.
Also the sloop doesn't need another cannon, it's benefit is its mobility not fire power. The Galleon is a multi-crew moving turret, it makes sense for the entire crew to bombard the enemy as simple things for a sloop such as turning, raising the anchor and shifting sails are not as simple on a Galleon.

So don’t be rude and do your research.
lol. ok please do your research.
@madoubledog Hello :)
Let me vouch for @Ant-Heuser-Kush. I'm sure he wasn't trying to be rude, he's a well respected member of the community and that doesn't really fit him.
He is correct, it will have 2 cannons on each side.

I remember my first day on the interwebs
@madoubledog Now, the number of cannons on the brigantine might already be determined, but that doesn't mean we have to shut down discussion on the balance between the 3 ships and how many the sloop should have :)
Personally I feel like 1 cannon on the sloop is fine. The sloop has so much maneuverability over the galleon that it is able to pepper a galleon without taking any return fire if commandeered correctly. Adding another cannon onto it might make it too strong for the galleon.

Look at the video on there twitter feed. It says look we brought our ship with us.
And FYI he was rude to me first. this post was for a suggestion not for someone to comment on.He wasn't rude he was informative and helped with your question, Rude is not saying thank you lol.
The sloop has 2 and will always have 2. Typically you will only have one person shooting and one maneuvering at any given time. The Brig is where the extra cannon and person comes into play.

So to keep on topic:
As mentioned the Brigantine is remarked by the much shared image as having 4 cannons total, 2 per side.
This obfuscated video you reference would be helpful to have a link toward. This way, if your receiving alternative information than other posters you have something to cite. I'd love to see a brigantine. The closest I could find was a .gif that really for a moment looked like 3 cannons... it wasn't.... it was a galleon with 4 and an odd angle for the camera..
Even without the brigantine... a 3 cannon sloop without further alteration elevates it's value to greatly. The caveat to this is the notion that overall only one cannon will be firing in more intense battles anyhow. Someone will be overboard, repairing, or steering anyhow.

Since the sloop has a helmsman and cannoneer for its one cannon each side and the brig has a helmsman and two cannoneers for its two cannons each side then shouldn't the galleon have a helmsman and 4 cannoneers for its 4 cannons on each side? Just sayin!!😀
No! The galleon needs three cannons!
Lol.
Imho the galleon should only have 3 cannons on each side. I don't mind them having 4 but to balance it it should only have 3.
@treefittymonsta I agree! So take a cannon away and increase turning radius, anchor speed and sail speed or.....
.......leave it as is and add the 4th cannoneer! It's all about ratios. Add the 5th man and create a 3 cannon ship😀@treefittymonsta said in Sloop cannons:

Four is fine. I've never yet seen all four cannons in use at the same time. Somebody's got to pilot the ship, bail waiter, manage the sails, engage in combat, etc.

I've seen all four cannons fired at once. And in the hands of the right crew way to op.
@ant-heuser-kush That would most certainly be OP. It will have to be less maneuverable than the sloop and slower into the wind if they want it to be balanced.
It does have the unique disadvantage of not being able to see 360 degrees from the crows nest when sails are unfurled.

I doubt that "feature" will exist in the final release, but we'll see.
adding a cannon to the sloop won’t hurt anything. It’s only a two person ship. Someone has to sail. Same principle as galleon 4 people 4 cannons but someone has to sail. Yes a sloop turns faster but turning faster doesn’t do damage to the other boat. And if a 4 player galleon loses a battle between a 2 man sloop then they are baddies. 4 people means one sails , two fire cannons and one can repair, or can do whatever.
@madoubledog said in Sloop cannons:
That’s because this game is filled with little kids who don’t know how to play.
So why do you need another cannon, exactly?
Just wanna throw out there cannons are based on length of the ships, not number of people on the ships. Masts are relative to crew size. Galleon has 3 masts so that 1 person can man each while someone steers. Sloop has 1 mast for the one extra crew member who isnt steering. The new brigantine will have 2 masts for the 2 people who arent steering. Now, sloops are short only needing one cannon to cover the length of the ship, the brigantine will have 2 and the longest boat, the galleon, has 4. Hope that clears some stuff up
@madoubledog Don't worry the new 3 player ship named the Brigantene has 2 cannons on either side and 2 sails as well. This will release with cursed sails on July 31st
@budderknightj said in Sloop cannons:
The Sloop as 2 cannons in totals, the Brigatine has 4, and the Galleon has 6 in total
In total galleons have 8 cannons, 4 per side
