Ik the new one coming is only 2-3 people. But hey a lot of people have more than only 4 friends. And often it is awkward leaving people behind. I think it would be fun to have 2 extra people in the ship. Man o War? Perhaps. Make it so the sails actually need 2 people to make a difference on adjusting the sails.
With a 6 man ship, there would be room for more intense boss battles. That flying octopus squid? A serpent/hydra? Well, though it is possible to use a regular galleon. Still, I personally think this would be a fun addition.
edit: Or maybe even a 5 man ship. And make it so the sails beed tending by 2people ever so often. And cosidering its "heavier size" it should never be any faster than the galleon
6 man Ship?
@gummbgummb I agree that it sucks having to leave some friends out, but I also think 6 people on a ship is far too unbalanced. No matter how you hinder the ship itself to try and balance, a crew of 6 would be able to send a 4-5 man boarding party while keeping their ship afloat, and that would be entirely too overpowered in my opinion.
I too want a six person ship, I accept the fact that to maintain the culture of the game it should never have server selection and or the ability to invite a crew of your friends ships onto the same server, but I think a six man team would be a good compromise...Call of Duty used this number pretty effectively in most of it's game modes.
The challenge would be to someone design said ship with enough drawbacks that you'd create the parity this game is all about. If I get six pirates, the ship better not be very easy to sail.
@like-39-ninjas @like-39-ninjas fair point. Maybe a 5 man then? And make it so the sails need careful tending. And considering its size, it should never be any faster than the galleon
@gummbgummb I would like to see a large ship certainly more than a 4 man galleon. However I can see why people would be apprehensive about it being added and I would agree to some extent but id like to give it a trial run and see how it plays out.
@gummbgummb 5-man might be doable. I think the main issue would be difficulty in repairing. A galleon and sloop can be kept afloat by one person pretty easily through most engagements. In order to prevent overpowered boarding parties(easily the most effective way of winning a battle), a larger ship would have to require 2-3 people on repair duty to keep it afloat. Maybe give it 2 decks below the waterline, so bailing water would require a lot more running, and you'd have to traverse 2 decks to patch leaking holes.
