I would love to trade some gold for some doubloons
only my thoughts not click bait not posted to cause problem I know this would be popular for people who can not put as much time in a they would like due to other commitments but I appreciate this might upset PL who have completed the grind .
since you can not have a advantage skill weapons wise what harm would it do ?
My son pointed out that the bilge rats don't have much use for gold according to Duke anyway. I think that's why they give it away for doubloons.
I get the desire and I know I'm lucky in the time I can put into the game, but I agree with @Hynieth that it would take away from the events. I don't care about the letters, but just the fun of finding other crews out working on the same task is fun.

No. The whole point is it a special currency you can only get for completing tasks. Those with tons of gold could unlock everything and do nothing to earn the items. I think leaving the rewards for doubloons is a better option so people can complete things later.
I can understand the frustration to a degree, especially if you don't like some events, but it would defeat the purpose altogether. Remember, you don't have to spend all your doubloons during an event, as they carry over to the next one.
It's what I'm doing. Once I get the cosmetics, I save my doubloons for the next event and buy the cosmetics on day one. Then do the new challenges, get doubloons, and repeat. It takes a bit of the pressure off having to do them in the two weeks.

Why do the event if you can just buy it with gold. And also hey I've got 1mil gold let's buy 20 levels.
By the time you have 1 million you don't need to buy levels anymore. I don't even see the problem. If you don't have the time, just do one event a month and you will get enough doubloons to buy the cosmetics from both events. If you don't have time to play the game, why would you have lots of gold? If you don't have time to play, why do you want to become a legend to begin with? There's no content, you would not have time to show it to anyone if there was.

Did you really think there would never be xp bonuses or other methods to raise xp? Should the 99% of players not at PL get punished because you had the time to grind your way there early? Does PL even matter? What about all the people who abused the mechanics to get to PL way faster than they should have. I haven't bought a single level yet...I'm sure I will at some point. but hey if it takes me 6 months to get there playing casual,I'm fine with that.
