I wanted this to be the first of a few threads, varying in comprehensiveness, regarding what I personally feel Sea of Thieves can benefit from having, beginning with Sunken Curse content after the event ends.
First, I would like to start with just how good the increased spawn rate of washed-up items and other random loot feels. This change really validates exploration-based playstyles, which I am fond of when I just want to play to unwind. If we could keep it, at least in a modified form when the event ends, I feel increased random loot is a major step towards alleviating a bit of the grind, and helps make the world feel a little more exciting and alive.
Secondly, I wanted to touch on the cursed Merfolk statues. These could be an interesting permanent addition to the world, combined with sunken treasure, albeit with a few tweaks. To start, I feel the radius of the "pain field" should scale with the "level" of the shrine. Sapphire shrines would have the smallest field, while Ruby shrines the largest. Besides the increased health pools, they don't feel genuinely more difficult, as much as they feel more tedious. Also, should they carry over after the event, I feel these shrines should spawn with sunken loot around them, like offerings. Naturally, you would need to brave the pain field of the shrine, the ocean depths, and sharks if you wish to steal some shine for yourself.
I hope we can find ways to refine these suggestions, and see them realized in some way in-game. Thanks to those who read, and winds be at your back.
EDIT: @Johnson-Carl Suggests possible loot that spawns around shrines should scale with the "level" of the shrine.
