Wash snake venom

  • So I was with this random crew. One of our crew members was being very special and saying random stuff that would make me slam my head against my desk. Until he said something smart (his idea). When we jump in the water the snake venom effect should be washed off. Also we should be able to splash water in our face with a bucket.

    Hey,

i don't think that's how a venom works. :D But I actually like that idea.

  • Yup, that's straight genius. My only problem is that yes that's not how venom works. Which is why I would say water can just wash away that blinding purple effect but you will still lose health because you're poisoned.

  • thinking about it, eating bananas under water doesn't prevent you from drowning in real life either, so i'd be fine with water washing off a venom.

lol. I know but in this game they spit at you rather than bite it looks like. I do like your idea carl where your vision is clear but the health bar does go down.

  • @grumman1022 Yeah water could potentially have a lot more uses.

  • Imagine if pirates got dirty over time, being in the sand and digging up chests, being in fights and getting scars... What if all that could be washed away by jumping in the water or someone splashing you with water?

  • I would think dousing someone with a bucket of water, or jumping into the drink, would be a faster method of sobering up instead. Getting splashed or completely immersed in water removes the "Grog-o-vision" and drunken stumbling effects, but if you drank enough you still vomit.

  • Works for animals in cages. Based on my experience anyway.

  • @grumman1022 as the snakes never bite in this game but spit you shouldn't be poisoned anyway as spitting cobras try to blind you which is normally permanent. However if venom does enter the bloodstream washing wont have any effect. Regardless the venom effect doesn't last long so there isn't a need to counter effect it. Perhaps if they add potions you can drink one that will temporarily stop snakes from attacking you.

  • @alphacenturion2 REPEL's effect wore off! (Here come the zubats!)

I didn't realize that this was a thing for a long time, as I'm typically too busy doing voyages and running a ship solo to be drinking grog, but I tested it out a while back with my buddy. He drank a ton of grog and I splashed him in the face with a bucket of water and he instantly sobered right up

Actually, it isn't. At least I'm not aware it is, and I'm just suggesting that be a thing if it isn't already.

It is. So is sobering up by jumping in water. I tested it and can confirm
