(I already posted this once, but it was very late so not too many people saw it)
Okay so we all know that the skeleton bosses currently, are pretty weak, they have no actual mechanics and are technically regular skeletons but with a lot more health. So, I've come up with an idea similar to the Hungering Deep event, that includes skeleton bosses but with mechanics.
So the event is simple, a dungeon type area, something maybe like a large ruins or castle has been discovered on an island, to keep it simple, maybe a certain type of skeleton is believed to be there and the Order of Souls wants the skull of this certain skeleton for some reason that could be explained with quests. So, similar to the Hungering Deep, this can be done with a minimum of 5 people, and a maximum of 8, meaning you have to have at least 2 crews participating. If both crews have completed the quests, they can enter the dungeon/ruins or whatever to start going through it with the intention of collection the skull of the captain there.
And I've put together the dungeon, included with bosses, to play it out.
The rules set in place are simple:
Every boss encounter, every player can fill up an bananas completely, and they will each have access to a barrel every fight, allowing them to get up to 5 more bananas each boss fight.
Every boss encounter will also have an ammo box
Upon dyeing during a boss fight, the player cannot respawn until all players have died or the boss has been defeated.
To keep it simple, there will be 3 bosses throughout the dungeon/ruins.
I will assume that all players currently have 100 hitpoints of health, meaning that a power attack does roughly 50 damage, or a shark hits for 50 damage as well.
Boss 1: Skeleton Guardian
A massive skeleton, much taller and larger than regular ones, guarding the gates of the ruins.
Hitpoints: 2,500
Basic Attack: Hits ALL players in front of him for 15 damage, slow attack, however.
Abilities:
Stomp: Deals 20 damage to everyone in a circle around the boss
Cannonball throw: Throws a cannonball at a player, a direct hit will deal 100 damage, and will deal 50 damage in a small radius around impact
Phases:
Upon reaching 500 health, 5 normal bone skeletons will spawn to aid the boss.
Boss 2: Phantom Skeleton. A larger, but not as large as the guardian, Shadow Skeleton.
Hitpoints: 3,100
Basic Attack: 14
Abilities:
Swipe: Swipes all players in front of the boss, hitting each for 35 damage, blocking the attack reduces damage down to 10.
Shadow Mists: Deals 10 damage a second, for 3 seconds to all players.
Phases: The boss will begin the encounter invincible, like a normal shadow skeleton, in the beginning a bone skeleton carrying a gun powder barrel will spawn, the players must kite that skeleton into the center, where a unlit bonfire is, explode the barrel there to light it, in which it will momentarily stun the boss and make him attackable.
Boss 3: Captain "Sorrow". The final boss, regular size of a bone skeleton, but with clothing of an admiral on. The fight takes place on the highest point of the ruins on an outdoor platform, falling off will kill the player.
Hitpoints: 5,000
Basic Attack: 17
Abilities:
Whirlwind: Hit everyone around the boss with a sword, dealing 25 damage, blocking the attack only reduces the damage to 10.
Power Attack: Charges up a long attack over 5 seconds, then lunges forward a long distance, cutting all players hit by the lunge for 100 damage.
Poison Throw: Throws snake venom at a player, hitting them for an instant 15 damage, and dealing 5 damage every second, for 10 seconds, also blinds the player like a snake would.
Phases: Upon reaching 1,500 hitpoints, the captain will retreat to a higher platform where he cannot be hit by swords, but can be shot, although he takes 90% reduced damage from guns during this time so it would be useless.
Two mini bosses will spawn, each with the basic attack of a normal skeleton, but with 700 hitpoints each. During this time the captain will also be shooting a pistol down on the players every 10 seconds, dealing 50 damage to whoever he hits.
Additionally, during this phase, two ships, or possibly just cannons on towers below, will fire cannonballs high into the sky to rain down on either the left side or right side of the platform, players must avoid the left or right side because if hit by the cannons, they will take 100 damage and die instantly. It's fairly easy to avoid however. Once the mini bosses die, the phase ends and the captain comes back down to fight normally.
To add replayability to this, everytime a boss is defeated, they drop something special that can be sold to the Order of Souls, boss 1 drops 1,500 gold, boss 2 1,700 gold, and boss 3 2,000 gold. Only for a limited time however, so it can't be farmed over and over again.
Also, to keep it fair, only 2 crews can enter the dungeon at a time so 40 people storm in and instantly kill all the bosses.
And of course, each boss is separated by different halls/rooms filled with skeletons that must be defeated to move on.
