this to me is more of a good example of the pros of using pc vs console

Xbox: "please make crossplay OPTIONAL..Dont get rid of it..just OPTIONAL..

PC "Nnnooo it will destroy the community and I only bought it in the first place because it had crossplay doooonnnnttt take my obvious advantage so i can feel like i am better than i really am"

Also pc players "love farming xbox players, must be xbox scrubs, great display of pc advantage"....

To answer OP no i dont think pc players vs console is legit pvp the advantage is obvious. I dont blame the pc folk they are just using the tools available, no way to truly balance it. Having an OPTION to disable it iant going to ruin anything and still let pc players play w their console buddies that want to.

The player's perspective we were watching was simply trolling. PvP has an end goal, usually spawn killing is to siphon supplies from the enemy ship. Not a fan of the commentary from the player we were watching either but to each their own I suppose.

He did steal loot but he did it in a very inefficient way and simply wanted to bully more than actually complete his objective. Usually when I kill people I don't talk at all and just let my skill speak for itself (good or bad depending if you're better or worse than me).

However, in regards to committing piracy in a pirate game that was spot on. In history pirates would wave a friendly flag to ships and board them, usually talk to the captain then reveal they were pirates and rob them blind. Most of the time they would let a large portion of the crew survive and wouldn't shed much blood (unless they were flying the Red Jolly Roger which meant "No Quarter" would be given).

In a pirate game let alone one called Sea of THIEVES theft and piracy is both expected and even encouraged. It is rare in a game that someone won't fight back because even if they lose there are no long term repercussions unlike in real life if you die you're done. So in a game you have to kill the crew over and over again until you have completed your objective. This is not grieving, this is piracy.

In game grieving is when you go out of your way to ruin someones day. In this game it usually is harassment verbally with repeated in game killing when you aren't attempting to siphon supplies or steal loot. Really what gives away grieving is mainly what they are saying and how long they stick around to keep doing it.

I'm not sure what the intent of the OP was, but I know that no-one will convince me to stop PvPing and I won't be more friendly to anyone unless Rare makes me via an event. But once I'm personally done with it I will ruin anyone else's attempts at it simply to make them work for it more. I welcome others to do the same with me, I love a good challenge.

i think i get what the point of the OP was. see what people consider to be griefing. and great on point, the board is clearly divided. i know i started the conversation off in a different direction. while some will see this video as a good tactic, others will see it as bad form. just shows the game is what you make it

Best part of the video was when the person playing stole their chest and tried to turn it in at the skull lady 3 times before realizing it goes to the gold hoarder.

Yeah man, that was ridiculous, at first I thought he was a new player to the game because he had a pistol with no skin, but then I realized he was level 37 in gold hoarders faction lol

Not sure if this is your own video, but if it is you are clearly trying to be funny here...for who I don't know because it was pretty dumb. The commentary wasn't even clever. You should probably try to hone the craft before posting these terrible videos.

Okay, it shouldn't be optional. If it was optional, the community would shrink and the game would die out. As for PC controls being advantageous, they should just let Xbox players use a keyboard and mouse on Xbox. I mean, I can play with a Xbox controller on the PC so why not?

I read another thread with an article saying xbox was going that route. Didnt give an ETA but still interesting, would start to give a big edge over other consoles.

Beyond that even, e3 Msoft teased about next gen console. In that article the devs were saying they are more than likely going to stream their own content making consoles obsolete, one more maybe two console gens left. Just one way of getting ahead of that curve

I'm a PC player and I totally agree with you. There's plenty of X-Box players who can whoop my rear quarter. I'm amazed at what they can do. I'm not saying PC doesnt have an advantage it does but There are some true heroes on the X-box side.

As for the Video It's kinda fun to see it because it's clearly a pretty new crew running into its first encounter with seasoned pirates. On the other hand it's kinda sad, they lost such bad loot and got wo whooped, hope they stick to it hone their tactics and get better.

The OP isnt even taking full advantage of the Pc's controlls He's not hopping around 360 no scoping etc. The crew outnumbered him 2-1 but didnt take that advantage in stead running around unfocussed. I cant even tell if they're X-box or Pc players (got no sound on so they might tell him at some point).

I'd have left them alone after looting them but to each his owon.

Your second point, 'let xbox use kb/m'. Some cant afford accessorises,

A Keyboard and mouse combo will set you back around 10-20 euros if you can't afford that I dont know how you can afford games.

I love crossplay because it gives me more people to play with both in my team and as random people on the seas.

I've never heard an X-box player complain in game about being disadvantaged. Most of the time I'm not even thinking aobut them being seperate players on seperate systems.

As for the argument about having to play with KB/M you're not forced to. It should just be added to X-box period. For convenience and for games like this, minecraft etc. Just like Pc players can use a controller (I frankly love playing games with my X-box 360 controller) X-Bone players should be able to use KB/M at least for games like this and Minecraft.

Besides where do you draw the line, will you also seperate people who use pro controllers? With the extended triggers handles and other features that make controlling easier? People who use adapters to imput KB/M, people using X-box one X because of loading times, people who use an SSD in their X-box. This isnt a PC problem this is a problem MS made when they designed a console based on PC, you've got a miniature PC without the option to use Kb/m.

and lets actually analyze that video, its not a matter of pros of playing pc.
These players were clearly new, even the black dog guy, they had black sails, 7k gold, and everything else was basic, and clothing too.
The loot they had, with the adjustment to how good loot you get for voyages, the were clearly new, and doing super low level quests, maybe their first few voyages?

they were still learning the game, the dont stand against someone that knows the game well, just like any other game.
I cant just pop in Halo, or LoL and to expect myself to just be a god, no, i have to learn the things to do the things, same with this game.

My friend and I surprise attacked a docked galleon for easy loot. It turns out the crew wasn't very good, but I feel like the video summarizes everyone outlook on PvP.

So you posted a video where you beating noobs ? WOW thats skill, what exactly you want to prove with this?

@pomalotacusmk3 But that's the problem. The guy turning like a tank could be a Pc player it could be an X-Box player, the guy bunnyhopping could be a PC player it could be an x-box player. There already is a way to use kb/m support and since you can ajust everything people who use this are already at an advantage. Saying that making crossplay optional will solve this is just wrong.

I've used a controller and besides the fact that I'm really not used to using a controller in a first person game I'm proficient enough with it to bunny hop quickturn and stab someone in the back with a sword with it. I just ajusted turning rates and button layouts. When someone is good with a controller I'm afraid I'm not able to tell you if he/she's a xbox player. (I'm not able to tell you in the first place anhow).

Yesterday I met a crew and did some friendly duels, they beat me a few times both with guns and with swords. Afterwards I saw a screenshot of what the guys had on board and saw the button to interact with X so I'd say practise some more and strive to be good.

Word has also just come out that X-Box is going to be supporting kb/m so yeah the cookie just crumbled into the favor of making the playing field equal so I can keep my x-box friends ^_^

When everyone is suggesting that Xbox players are farmable and bad, yet almost every time I come into contact with a PC player they are the ones typing up a storm as their ship sinks and earns a good 'ol block for bringing their toxicity out.
