Hello, Rare and fellow pirates! I have two ideas (and one fun easter egg-like idea) that I believe could possibly enhance the authenticity of living a virtual pirate life. For my first idea, it’d be cool that if you were getting chased by a ship and had some treasure on your ship, you could stop at an island, bury it, then retrieve it later when the antagonistic ship was dealt with. How would you find the treasure later, you ask? Well, if you don’t leave the current server you’re on, you’d be provided with a treasure map that gives you and your crew the island’s name and picture with a red X that shows you where your treasure’s buried. For my second idea, it kind of loosely borrows from my first idea; but it’d be cool if pirates were provided with a journal that we could keep notes in. Like, you access it from the items wheel and you can manually type in your notes like if you were messaging somebody on Xbox Live. That way, you could make notes of where you found certain animals, items, or in the case of the current Bilge Rats Skeleton Thrones, where you found certain thrones at so you can help out fellow pirates if they’re having trouble. I believe that’d increase positive communication on these stranger tides.
Also, as an easter egg/event, since Rare developed the Donkey Kong Country series, perhaps Rare could get permission from Nintendo to put King K. Rool’s ship, the Gangplank Galleon, in the game. Maybe pirates could plunder it as a sunken ship, but it’s only available during certain times of the day, and you’d know it was available and that you were in the vicinity of it by seeing a green tint on the water’s surface. OR, the Galleon could be a boss ship that, like the Megalodon, several ships would have to team up and take down together. You’d know the Galleon was available to battle because a Jolly Roger cloud in the shape of a Kremling head (the crocodile-looking creatures in the Donkey Kong Country games) would appear in the sky in the general vicinity that the Galleon’s sailing. Upon defeating the Galleon, it would sink, leaving its treasures to be plundered by the different pirate crews that helped take it down. If crews want to turn on each other afterwards and try to talk all the gold for themselves, then that’s their business.
So yeah, check it out!
