Riddle Quests Better Rewards

  • I like solving the riddle quests. They're fun and some are pretty confusing.

What I don't like is solving a bunch of clues to find one chest.

It's just more efficient to only do the treasure map quests and get multiple chests per island.

    So how about this:
Instead of the clues leading you to one chest, they instead lead you to hidden doors, secret rooms, etc.

Solving the riddle quests would sometimes lead to what's essentially mini skeleton fort treasuries.

You solve all the riddles and it eventually leads you to a room that contains a chest plus a couple trinkets.

Would make these quests feel more rewarding and the potential for better payouts would make the anticipation of doing them so much better.

  • @steveboddy i agree with this... i had the idea that you dig up a chest with a treasure map of the island your on with a random chest roll based on the level of voyage

  • At the very least you should not find a chest, but a treasure map that has several chests. Reward for riddle maps is so bad for the time required to solve them (and the danger that comes with leaving your ship for 5 to 10 minutes).

  • @nayfe-pacewell I like that too. My thought was kinda more something like the clues lead you to a buried key. Find the key and it'll unlock a room somewhere on the island just like the skeleton forts.

I don't imagine it would be too difficult to patch in a door and a room onto a bunch of islands.

  • @steveboddy this idea is very attractive to my sense of adventure. Like a small caged cave or even a door in an underwater cavern or sunken ruins..

  • @nayfe-pacewell exactly!

  • I really like this idea since it would be a kind of solo-able skull fort event. where it leads to a door, fight a skeleton crew that drops the key and then haul the treasure! =D

    EDIT:
The reward could correspond to number of "steps" needed to complete the riddle, so two steps gives 1-2 chests and 4 steps gives 2-4.

  • It should be hordes of treasure you dig up. Not just one chest. Multiple chests along with those goblets and cups.
