Sharks Are Returning Or Never Went Away?

    Did anyone else notice there were almost zero normal sharks in the water in the few days after the arrival of Meg on Tuesday?

    I saw one today for the first time since then... and I was wondering if it was a deliberate thing by Rare to remove/deplete them temporarily (as part of Meg's lore)?

    Or maybe it's just that there were so many of them leading up to THD that I am imagining it?

    @realstyli I keep on getting sharks all the time. Killed at least 4 today in my 3h playtime.

    Hmmm... I guess it has just been a matter of luck and the drop off from THD's lead up in that case.

    I've still only seen 1 since Tuesday and I've been doing a lot of sunken wrecks.

    I got a glitched land shark lol the thing followed my buddy onto the beach chasing him. Once he killed it, its body slide back into the ocean lol

    Holy mother of pearl! They seem so random in the spawn rates. Sometimes we get none. Sometimes only one. Other times six at once.

    Yes, I’ve noticed the decline in Shark spawns has significantly DECREASED since THD came out on Tuesday.

    BEFORE THD:

    •Puts toe in water - 5 sharks

    DURING THD:

    •Dives fully loaded shipwreck solo with 5 treasure items on board, going back & forth from shipwreck to sloop - Maybe see 1 shark.

    I don’t think it’s intentional. I think it’s a by product of the update somewhere in the coding. It laughable. I miss the shark packs. It made it a lot more fun.

    I saw one shark today at a sunken wreck near Ancient Spire. I shot it twice from my ship and it swam away. When I dived into the water expecting to see it, it had vanished completely.

    As part of Meg's lore, it kind of makes sense, so I hope the decline and slow reintroduction was deliberate.

    @realstyli I hope they start showing back up soon. I miss that threat when swimming during combat. I think I'd like to see them return at half of what they were leading into Hungering Deep.

    Or even before that lead up. There seemed to be more of them but they didn't appear to attack unless you were injured (they smelled blood) or you got too close. Which is more realistic for sharks anyway.

    @realstyli I always wonder who stuck them with all the harpoons, lol. Hoping we see those as a fishing weapon someday.

    Yeah and you had to be creative to board other ships. Please Rare, bring back our sharkies!

    Good riddance.

    Aside from preventative boarding they were just obnoxious in amount the last little while.
