Open Crews - Pirates Leaving Penalty

  • After playing an open crew galleon for the first time in awhile I was not long in becoming very disheartened by other players in my crew.

The reason for this was after pirates in my crew had gotten killed by other players, they immediately left. Now when players leave all after one another, it takes 5-15 minutes maybe more, for other players to connect into the game to help. This is especially annoying when you’re trying to battle for the skull fortress.

Now I’d like to see some sort of penalty introduced for players that leave games - after the 2nd game they leave have a timer count down that they have to wait to play again, if they leave again the timer extends and gets higher each and every game they leave. I think this will resolve people from constantly game hopping.

  • What about when you join games of people not doing what you are looking for?

  • @escuzme OR you could spend some time to find a crew you like and then just play with them?

There’s not much of a variety of things to do at the moment so I think it’s safe to say that the majority of us are doing the same thing anyway. We’re all trying to get gold. It’s rather hard to do so if everyone keeps leaving.

I understand where you’re coming from but it’s rather difficult to find a crew to like because people keep leaving before you can even break breath to them. 😅

Gold is of almost no importance to me. Still not a legend and I prefer to work on factions that I'm in the mood for.

  • Yikes, recruit people from the discord communities, xbox clubs or the forums, if you are on open crews that doesn't mean you can't invite people.

  • @escuzme

Just find a more reliable crew. Search forum for MST it's our discord. We dont quit like that.

  • @escuzme Not everyone is doing the same thing. If you're trying to get gold, then you must be very early game. You should be aiming for rep, and the gold will follow. So, no this won't be conducive to a better experience for most. If i hop into an open crew and want to do Order voyages, and the other 3 players want to do Gold Hoarders, then obviously i'm gonna hop into another game.

  • @escuzme look around in forums for groups. It add me GT:Pliskon

  • @pliskon or*

  • I'd say a "too many joins" penalty is more apropos. Leave if you want cause you pulled a bad group but a 10 minute cool down is applied before joining another crew.

  • @escuzme
What if I join a crew looking for players that have a mic, speak english, and don't AFK but, I have to quit and search for hours to find a crew that communicates?

Maybe I don't want to stay in a crew full of kids screaming on their mics or don't understand how to play the game.

What if I receive one of the many beard errors and get disconnected from a server?

It's not a competitive game with a set time limit for a match.
Players can jump in and out and play for as long as they like.

  • I disagree with OP entirely
I had a session with my friend where we had to reroll a crew four... actually it could have been five times in a row before we could get settled in
The first time: "The other two didn't speak English. That's fine we just can't communicate. We'll find another group"
The second: "Why is are there nothing but powder barrels everywhere on the ship everywhere except the crow's nest? Okay they're not talking at all. This is terrifying and stressful"
Third: "They're just playing music. I laid down a voyage, could you vote on it? Please? Please vote on the Voyage? Please do anything besides play music. Seriously anything. Anchor? Sails? No? Okay..."
Fourth: "Yeah that's a rock. Oh we wanted to hit that. Sweet the other guy isn't moving. Yeah this was fun"
I really feel like there was another one I'm forgetting but I can't...
I remember one we sank on like 3k in spices and skulls floated up but I don't know where that fit in
    We were both just baffled
    Just the odds...
So we ended up on a sloop despite what we wanted to do
Punishing us for not wanting to be punished by the... shall we say "diverse" playerbase would really be a bit much
If someone doesn't want to play with you (and this isn't a shot at you) they shouldn't HAVE to play with you
No one should be PUNISHED for not wanting to play with you
