PSA: Skull Fort Eye Color!

  • It doesn't indicate the fort's "difficulty".
It doesn't indicate how many waves are left.
It doesn't indicate other ships in the area.
    It. Doesn't. Indicate. ANYTHING!
(At least, not anything you can't glean from looking at the sky)

Skull clouds (like most clouds) gain a pink/reddish hue during sunrise & sunset. This coloring carries over to the eyes of the skull as well, making them appear yellow (when dealing with lights, Red + Green = Yellow), or even red.

  • Indicate NPC difficulty or what type of waves there are is fine. However any indication in the skull's color that has to do with other players shouldn't be implemented.
The premise of the game largely is not knowing where other ships are until you see them for yourself. If there were a half-upvote option, I would give it.

    It's not a suggestion, its a statement.

  • Ringing bells doesn't call sharks.

Playing music doesn't stop chest of sorrow from crying.

  • Eh.......

  • @tre-oni For the longest time, I thought that music stopped the sorrows chest until one day, as I sank, I realised "this isn't working", lol

  • @deliciouspack wut bout green drucker.

  • @coconut-monkey6 Yeah the only thing you can do is throw the thing overboard or hold it way down on the side of the ladder (sloop or galleon).

  • I approve this suggestion, we certainly do need more cosmetics.

  • I can confirm after messing around with a few forts and friends that the eyes blink red when a new wave is spawning😁

  • @deliciouspack Thank you so much for pointing this out! I'm so sick of the newbie pirates getting told false things about skeleton forts.

  • People do this all the time. We see two things occurring at the same time, or one after the other, and think one causes the other. The two logical fallacies are known as c*m hoc ergo propter hoc and post hoc ergo propter hoc, or the easier to remember "false cause." We're just wired to do this and quite often it serves us, but when we have to unlearn them it is really hard to let go of these assumptions. Like the one about trees turning their leaves upside down before a storm to catch rain (a basic sequence in college biology should show this is nonsense HINT: transpiration), but someone convinced of it will speak as if they know it is a fact (someone reading this believes in their core that I'm wrong). I had not heard the one about the bell causing sharks to spawn within the game. That's funny!

  • @lordbuns78 Incorrect. The OP's statements are correct

  • We need SoT Mythbusters XD

  • Your boat sinks if you don't bail the water out

O.O It took you 12 minutes per wave to clear them? I've got bad news for you matey.

  • You know what made the pirate stories fantastic?
The mysticism that we gave it.

If you know about the smoke show, don't disperse it for others. Just smile and nod.

    You make an excellent point.
