Others are mean even when I'm nice

  • U had been playing solo and was collecting animals. My daughter woke up and was crying so I didn't have time to try to turn in my 30 chickens (each quest seems to want me to cross the map just to turn in one or 2) I saw another galleon and sailed up and asked them if they wanted my chickens that I had to leave. They fired on me...... Really your gonna sink and drown free chickens. I sailed away and have it to another friendly sloop.

  • @crimson-aa never trust a pirate

  • it's annoying as hell. people need to change their mind set in this game. it isn't call of duty and definitely isn't fortnite.

  • This...Is...A...Pirate....Game....

  • @maquark false...people can make of it what they want. It sounds more like you need to change yours to accept that fact. No offense or anything but its a pirate game. Expect pirate stuff to happen. Frequently.

  • I've been in this situation several times. All you can do is try to signal the ship you're approaching, then hope they receive it, and are willing to talk. It does, honestly, feel like a shame to have to logout with a full inventory and/or loot that I don't have time to turn in.

In the end, it's the opposing ship's loss. It is nothing to really get worked up about, since it is a pirate game. Still, even Pirates used signals to communicate with each other and their prey.

    Correct....this...is...why...a...real....pirate....would...have...taken...the....free....loot.

  • Life is never fair. There's really no reason to make a post about it to complain. tbh. You said you have a daughter so I'm sure you're old enough to understand this. Kind of a waste of time to make this post, don't you agree?

  • @maquark
The solo mode is described as a perilous voyage, it's supposed to be hard yet all the solos complain about it non-stop

  • @chief-beef-dsp it is hard. due to sailing alone, doing everything yourself. good luck against pistol skeletons. but I'm speaking of player interaction. THAT doesn't have to be hard. battles are fun, but damn. people are acting like their K/D ratio is being tracked.

why can't we have a heckin beer together once in a while?

  • Another solo complaint. It's hard mode, It's meant to be a challenge

  • @maquark
We did that, brought a grog chest onto a ship I mean. We all got drunk but my duo partner who put two gunpowder barrels in the water in front of their ship; We sailed of and they sunk with no loot.

  • @chief-beef-dsp l**o that's dirty 🤣i love it. at least it's creative vs being slashed, chased, and shot while I'm shouting "Cheers!" with grog in hand

  • People are jerks...if 2 or 3 join I get pit in the Brig of my own ship.

Store 300 cannon balls waiting for Skill Fort War random joins, grabs my gun powder sinks my ship...

    People suck

i swear I'm going to cringe into an alternate universe. so tired of reading that. kill-on-sight is annoying when you're trying to communicate. there's more to this game than sinking everything you see. ever try gifting loot for someone helping you slay skellies? ever help someone else? it's something else you can do in this game. sure, stab em in the back afterward if you want. it's still more exciting than kill-on-sight.

  • @maquark I help people all the time. I also kill people all the time. In a game like this you can be frustrated at "kill on sight" all you want but it's a part of the game. A BIG part if you consider the tactic of "kill or be killed" which I think is what a lot of this comes from. Its part of it and you either need to accept it or play something else. tldr - Its a pirate game.

  • @lefaux2 Exactly, Most pirates didn't kill or sink every ship. They would rather take it with fear the bloodshed. Bodies don't produce more money and if a ship knows your are going to kill them they will make it hell and the word will spread and if captain Ve111a is a cutthroat that kills all he comes across Captian Ve111a will have terrible time anyone saw his flags.

  • @rumham636 I agree with you up until the rudeness. I'm not playing another game. "It's a pirate game" that I like to play and I'm expressing that others' play style is affecting me in an unsatisfactory way. Merely suggesting that other ways to play be TRIED, at least.

  • @maquark Sure. Completely agree that people should branch out and try new things in game. That being said I don't see how you can approach any encounter in game with other players with any other mindset than "they most likely want to kill me."

Why are you referring to yourself as "Captain Ve111a?" "I" is much shorter.

  • @crimson-aa
    Why you'd have 30 chickens?!
And why would someone wants chickens?!
Chickens (and every merchant item) is only useful for open quests..

You know what really really bugs me?!
People who don't get it and keep fighting over chickens...
Like the other day I wasn't interested in fighting, was about to leave. And only had 3 chickens... Waited for a guy to do all the thin he wanted on the Outpost first to go there after he leaves.
He came after me, I told him several times I only had chickens, put it all at sight, dropped out of my ship and let my ship sunk so he could see I was telling the truth, he was next to the chickens even though, he wanted to kill me to go sell those chickens from me.. but why?!
For certain he had no merchant quest active for that Outpost and that wouldn't give him nothing worth the battle.

  • @jonaldinho Right but in a game where players have infinite lives I cant "scare" a crew into giving me their stuff.....soooooo I kill em instead.

  • @rumham636 oh, absolutely lol but that's what makes it so much fun. watching them closely, but still working together. cannon shots from a distance or sinking a parked ship is lame compared to the anxiety you get from being next to someone who could slay you at any moment, or try to, but isn't... yet l**o

  • @maquark Exactly. And thats why I kill most pirates/ships I come across. I'm being proactive about protecting whats mine. Jack said it best man...never trust a pirate

Do you guys wanna borrow one of my ashma inhalers? Lol

  • @ve111a I would enjoy to sail with you at some point. Or at least cross paths on a server somewhere

  • @knifelife alt text

  • @jonaldinho Hyperbole.

  • @ve111a Ha that series was so funny! Don't get the point your trying to make with the giff but i loved he series either way.

And im just repeating what Rare said, remember as every White Knight will tell you Rare gave exactly what they promised. A GaaS title l**o.

  • Well, this is how it goes sometimes. I enjoy the unknown, some interactions are memorable even when it includes a great loss on my part but that is just my point of view. Last night, a sloop doing a skull fort was chased off and nearly sunk by a galleon. They tried to take it back with no luck for over 20 minutes. I was sailing around the area doing missions and decided to come help them. I drove straight into the galleon and stayed afloat somehow. I sunk them and sailed away but towards the circling sloop and said on mic "it's all yours, I just wanted to fight" and they shot my wheel nearly killing me. I chalked it up as them just aggravated in general and went on my way. If every ship was nice to me, I wouldn't play this game...Does that make sense to anyone or am I crazy?

@Ve111a Ahh my bad im getting my threads mixed up here paha! Now i get it perfectly! Well played xD

That old chestnut.... the vast majority of pirates weren't out and out toxic a*****s.

  • @gsrtrent
I'm not complaining, I'm simply sharing a pirate story. That is the title of this forum. Share your stories? That being said wouldn't all stories be a waste of time? Maybe books and movies a waste of time? Part of the fun I get from this game is the discussion. I don't care when people sink me and steal my treasure bc I sink people too. I just think it's silly to refuse free loot. 😋

  • We kill first then decide to be nice, since you don't know their skill level or how long they've been playing when you first approach or are approached. Once they're dead we look at their quest and if it's low level we fix the boat, leave the loot and move on. If not... well we take it.

Shoot first, talk later. They will respawn ;)

No, I definitely don't agree. This person wrote this under 'tavern tales' and if you can't talk about this on the forums where can you?

People need to stop criticising every post and instead, try to genereate some constructive conversation that can be had around the OP's post.

You're right that this person has a daughter so they must be adult. So they did the adult thing and express their opinion on a forum designed just for that.

Not everything has to be about how amazing this game is (even though it is amazing!)
