A Whale Of A Time

  • I'm sure this has been suggested before, but I thought of a whale that eats ships. It comes up and swallows your ship whole, and over time it will damage the ship. It can be killed from inside or out, but if you're inside the whale killing it, you can sever organs for the Merchant Alliance, fight off swallowed skeleton crews, and pilfer treasure swallowed by the great beast. It can be an event to bring crews together for two reasons;

    1. Maybe the whale can swallow more than one ship! Then, crews can work together to save their ships and whatever treasure was aboard.
    2. Sailors on the outside can follow the whale and try to sink it and get it to spew some treasure too.

    Just an idea, critisism welcome

  • The suggested new dimension is a brilliant idea. The whale part is a bit worn, but applicable.

    It would be mutually beneficial and enriching experience if each new sea monster could have their own unique puzzle pattern for us to solve our way away from them. The minor minions like skeletons and the like can be defeated so these enormous beasts should not be, but merely repelled or escaped from. Otherwise they don't feel distinct enough to warrant introduction. The krakens barely made the cut by merely scraping the surface, but the feature really needs to be updated further for the feature to actually earn its place here.

    I've seen so many features in my lifetime this far that I'm yet to be impressed. There's potential everywhere, but only a few names have taken uniqueness to heart.

  • @breer-eeto I think the whale should be the deadly blood sea that you go to at the edges of the map, because what if the whale is deadly enough to swallow a ship whole, killing the players.
    It would be a lot cooler then red water that hurts your ship. also it would not be too op because players already know to avoid the edges of the map, and it would stop the youtubers saying that they can survive in the red sea, now instakilling them even if they dared

  • I'm not a programmer but I think this would be really hard if not impossible to program
