Title pretty much explains itself. For your average solo player or a sloop crew, its not uncommon to die during a skeleton raid. Having the entire fort reset skeletons to zero when you solo die or your crew wipes until you sail away and sail back is a terrible design idea. One, it makes your crew waste valuable time in doing the raid. Two, it prevents other crews that sail in to steal the loot and glory from actually doing the raid as well. You show up, hopefully sink the other crew's ship, and then realize you have to sail right back out in order to reset it because the now sunk team had wiped. Then you've got to waste yet more planks on repairs from tower cannons, as well as wondering just how many other ships are going to show up. Chances are, you wind up in a 6v6 free for all for what could possibly be over an hour trying to get one ship out on top.
It isnt fun at all. Having to waste that much time, and probably more, makes skeleton raids hardly worth doing. I can make more gold farming golden chickens for an hour than I can doing a skeleton raid. Much like the Kraken, raids fall under the "why bother" category. Raids need to not reset, and frankly the reward needs to be higher. I usually net around 10k per raid I finish. Make it 15 and it might actually be worth the anguish.
