Crew death resets skeleton raids. It shouldnt.

  • Title pretty much explains itself. For your average solo player or a sloop crew, its not uncommon to die during a skeleton raid. Having the entire fort reset skeletons to zero when you solo die or your crew wipes until you sail away and sail back is a terrible design idea. One, it makes your crew waste valuable time in doing the raid. Two, it prevents other crews that sail in to steal the loot and glory from actually doing the raid as well. You show up, hopefully sink the other crew's ship, and then realize you have to sail right back out in order to reset it because the now sunk team had wiped. Then you've got to waste yet more planks on repairs from tower cannons, as well as wondering just how many other ships are going to show up. Chances are, you wind up in a 6v6 free for all for what could possibly be over an hour trying to get one ship out on top.

It isnt fun at all. Having to waste that much time, and probably more, makes skeleton raids hardly worth doing. I can make more gold farming golden chickens for an hour than I can doing a skeleton raid. Much like the Kraken, raids fall under the "why bother" category. Raids need to not reset, and frankly the reward needs to be higher. I usually net around 10k per raid I finish. Make it 15 and it might actually be worth the anguish.

  • @killthulhu19k I'm entirely unsure what it is you are referring to. I have never had to sail away from and return to a raid after dying while soloing it or if my crew is wiped in a galleon/2 man.

  • @killthulhu19k it dont reset, only normal skeletons reset, the waves still are in the number you already killed, for example, if the captain is out and you all die, white skeletons come out, but captain will still be there

  • @killthulhu19k I heard this before when I first started playing, but since have determined this to not be accurate. The waves do not reset upon death, however, the regular skeletons WILL respawn, making the initial attack on the island after a full crew wipe a bit harder. I am sorry to hear that you thought you had to actually sail away from the fort this whole time, that's a b****r. But at least now you know!

  • I had a raid reset on me twice tonight. Me and my buddy died, the wave skeletons disappeared entirely as well as any regular skeletons in towers. One was a wave of shadow skeletons, one a wafe of floral skeletons. Island went completely empty pnce we respawned. Not the first time Ive seen it happen either. Only way to get the wave skeletons back was to sail away and then back, and that brought full normal skeletons with them.

  • If you are the stealing ship looking to plunder a raid, helpful tip. Wait till they leave and sink them.

We have found it much easier than risking resetting the raid for the original crew attacking it.

Its like people don't read. I've done raids multiple times. They don't always reset like this. But this is the 3rd or so time its happened to me. Its probably a bug or something, but it IS happening. Why would I make up skeletons completely disappearing and the only way to get them back being to sail away and back again?

We can only read what you put into your post, not read your mind. Maybe you should re-read what you wrote yourself. No where did you state it only happens sometimes or has only happened a few times. You wrote it as a statement / fact that it occurs when a crew dies (implying to a reader it happens each time) which is inaccurate and false. Maybe choose your wording to better suite what you’re attempting to explain and convey. Good luck to you with your bug/glitch.
