As above, noticed the reduced loot in skeleton forts lately?
Anyone else noticed the reduced loot in Skellie forts?
@mad-jack-ketch theyve been reduced substantially from week 1. Our first skull fort was worth 22k gold. Now they're lucky to give 10k.
@freecellqt I've not noticed that much, but I know there is less loot in there making it less and less worth while to even attack it making it an obsolete event in game.
@mad-jack-ketch most my friends have finally reached legend, but the 2 that haven't are using a new strat for skull forts due to the low amount of loot.
If they meet any resistance before they start the fort they just server hop. The extra time to fight is almost never worth it.
@freecellqt Perhaps because of the server hopping is why they've reduced it. So for us that actually enjoy it, have made it dull and not interesting.
@mad-jack-ketch Looks like they've taken Bungie's route of nerfing things for everyone because some players abused a mechanic? That's a shame...
@wkd1337 its funny though, we did several forts over the weekend and only 2 were contested, the rest were uncontested UNTIL the skull cloud disappeared, then everyone came out of the woodwork, trying to steal that key lol
A contested skull fort may be fun if you are not emotionally invested in turning in the loot, but it is usually not worth the effort if you have to fight off others. Unless you can thwart any opposition and complete the fort in an hour or less then you could make more gold during that time by just completing voyage maps with three or more items on them, or focusing on golden animal requests. I get tired of wasting 90 minutes fighting the fort and waves of players in galleons and sloops only to get nothing because we lost the lottery.

Because players have realised there is no point attacking an occupied skull fort. Just let whoever gets there first do the work clearing it and then attack them and steal the loot. They'll be more vulnerable then as well. Same as any voyage.
(Not saying it's my tactic, I tend to ignore skull forts since I cleared one and got the idea that it's pointless)
