If theres no such signal there should be i'm thinking of flashing the ships lanterns untill they reply by doing the same so you know where you stand with them. Parley played a big part in the pirates world let me know what you think and give a like if you agree 😀 #HappySailing
A signal for parley
@darklaff-i-9-i I was thinking of trying to use the lanterns somehow. Maybe if your on a sloop and friendly just have the drivers lantern lit, and flash it.
@blam320 I think the idea is finding a way to communicate intent before you can see character models. Since then its basically too late.
parley was to speak with captain?

no one owns a ship and there is no captains as a result only rado's randoms
@sledgezapper64 flags would be the surest method, and the most historically accurate. i believe crude rockets, or fireworks, were used for communication at sea at some point in history.

We use Lanterns , Musicinstruments , our voice and Non Verbal comms like the " Ahoy" reply...But you have to be handy with the controller because i once tried to establish a parlay but became a bit clumsy ( * Now that's a surprise, moron) and i accidently shot the Non verbals " Man the cannons" in the air...Well, i could forget my parlay moment...
Rofl! That could have been me...

I think Rare once mentioned the possibility of adding a voice horn/megaphone like thing used to amplify your voice over a longer distance. This could allow us to communicate our intentions at a much safer distance.
The shouting trumpet is going to be added in the Hungering Deep update.
When sailing and I don't care if I'm sunk or can't be bothered to PvP, I'll just raise the sails and lower the anchor. If they attack and kill me, I'll just immediately scuttle. Why waste time?
Additionally, you'll be surprised how many crews don't even bother to sink/kill me when I do this. They'll just come aboard, check out my (lack of) treasure, wave and leave after maybe taking some ship supplies.
When docked, that's another story and totally depends on the circumstances.
