When being a solo pirate or even a squad of two often times raids are fun and even when taking a long time to complete. Like I've done raids with other complete random solo players and often times there's a total of 2 to 3 of us, and it's fine, but doing a raid and having other pirates literally skim the Island to sink your ship and dash off, which come on doing solo raids the accuracy of those skellies are well known for being too good so you likely need to respawn, but beyond that there are those who wait until you finish the raid to blast your ship and take the loot for themselves. Like one that's a waste of the raid participants time, and all it does is decentivise raids while additionally p*****g off the raid participants, literally it turns raids into this vulture fest. Like the majority of solo or duo raids I've done there's always been a squad of 4 people that literally bombard us and then take it all for themselves, that's unfair. SoTs team should perhaps fix raid vulnerabilities to stop those camping pirates, why not have like a way to allow a temporary invulnerability time period for the pirates who participate along with their ships not a long one but one long enough to get the loot on their ships or make the area around the raid after completed super aggressive, or unenterable, like a kraken protector until the loot is all picked up for those who deserve it after they used a good portion of their time. Fix Raids, like honestly this along with some other gameplay mechanics really wish I could get a refund and buy a game such as far cry 5, because it was 60$ of which only seems to be wasted due to all the trolls and things like this.
Raid campers make raids really dumb and broken
This is stupid, you don't deserve the loot because you killed a few waves, the only way to "deserve" the loot is if you manage it to get it on your ship and sell it.
How do you get it doesn't matter.I've done many raids as a 2 man sloop and never once got my ship sank without me noticing a ship coming from miles away.
Also you don't just open the vault while ships are nearby, that's your own fault.
Anything that gives invulnerability/safe zones etc is completely out of the question since it has so many problems and goes against the game itself.
It gets even funnier if you follow through your idea, what do you have to do to deserve the loot?
What's stopping me from "joining the raid" then going afk for a while and then get the loot anyways.
How do you split the loot?
Why not just give the rewards directly so players don't have to carry it to the outpost, it's way safer that way, right? All these questions are resolved by interacting with other players which is the point of the game.
I can negotiate with other players to help me with the raid, to team up against a galleon that's coming, I can get the hell out of there and see how things play out waiting for a better oportunity.Taking away player agency kills the game and that is what your idea does.

Life is not fair, piracy is the name of the game. If you are completing a Skull Fort you need to anticipate and be prepared for an ambush.
Oh okay ig then let me just go around then and sink raid participants ships and might as well also be the D-bag who spawn kills them then even if it's unfair, cuz life's not fair and cuz that's what a pirate would do. No that's called being broken.
I'm not sure what the issue is here. A vulture fest is exactly what the raid was designed to be. No one is entitled to the loot. You have to earn it. That not only means fighting the waves, but protecting your yourself from the vultures as you put it (Pirates) from sweeping in last minute.
This is not a first come first serve buffet table. It's survival of the fittest. Going into a raid alone or with a second is suicide if any Galleons exist on the server.
Why you think your entitled just because you were there first? I'm confused. My recommendation to you is to do what I do when soloing. Go dig up treasure and look for shipwrecks while a raid is going on. You get hassled less on the seas if everyone else is fighting for the raid. I've made quite a haul to the outposts because I am sailing around uncontested far away from the raid.
This might not be the game for you, but I wish you well!

One word: Paragraphs
@wturok well no, what I'm saying is they should still have to deliver the treasure for gold but the ability of receiving the loot should be up to the people who worked for it, now whether they get attacked after the loot is placed in the participants boats then the other surrounding players can chase them down and steal it if they can. But you know what I got you turo, I might as well just quit doing raids eh? And just be that D-bag who vulture camps it, it's fine when I take loot i don't deserve and waste another players time, it's fine, who knows maybe I'll run into you one day then eh? And maybe I'll just blow your ship up and then take all the treasure for myself and hmm might as well just get a whole galleon crew and convince the random it's easy loot thus spreading the idea of being a raid vulture. Because you know what, that's what the games about exploiting others and being the bigger A****e
As others have said this game is based around player interaction and piracy. I've done a number of raids with a crew of two and a crew of four. Sometimes we get attacked and that makes the raid significantly more intense. Sometimes we don't and we make our way back to an outpost without any trouble.
That constant threat of attack is what makes a raid intense. It's not the waves of skeletons you have to fight it's the fact that at any moment if you're not watching you could loose everything. It's the fear of the unknown that makes cashing in your loot oh so sweet.
