Merchant Alliance needs changes

  • Merchant Alliance voyages need help.

As soon as you start a voyage, all livestock virtually disappears. However, if you're sailing for either of the other two factions, animals are abundant. Visiting six islands in a row to check for animals and finding nothing is a ridiculous grind. And I'm not even talking about the RIGHT animals. I need red speckled chickens? I MIGHT find one on my 8th or 9th stop. It's too much.

I suggest letting them run alongside other voyages. So while you're following riddles or hunting skeletons, you can keep a weather eye out for the animals that you need and perhaps bring them all back to stable at the same time.

  • I agree it would be nice for them to be more.. additive somehow with other quests.

How did this topic get started in feedback mega threads @Deckhands

  • @tiresmokncamaro I've always been very partial to the idea of having the merchant alliance quests changed to be generic animals, and provide greater gold rewards depending on what you capture.

Example: Collect 3 chickens of any type, but the payout is higher the more rare (golden, speckled, etc) the type of chicken is that you turn in.

  • I've always been a fan of getting rid of the voyages altogether and just having the Merchants have boards up at each outpost saying what they'll take. Then, anything you happen to find and bring back will be worth something as long as they are taking it at the outpost you've gone to. Rather than buying contracts, you could just buy cages from them. And if you keep coming back to the same outpost and are dropping off the same thing, like chickens, for instance, they would stop taking that item and you would have to go to a different outpost to sell that particular good.

  • Moved to the main discussion category for now. If you want to specifically provide this as a Feedback Suggestion, you will need to recreate it in the new Feedback Category.
