Assassins creed Black flag has way more content. And if everyone on this forum only cared about the content of a game, you would all be playing other pirate games (they all have more content then this). But the reason your on these forums asking for more content is because you love the core game mechanics. The sailing is the best I've ever seen. In AC Black flag you might as well render a motor on the back of those "sailing" ships. So you all really love the core of this game, and want more to do. The developers of this game were focused on the assets that are in the game, made sure they are perfect. I think they are all pretty close to perfect. Now they are focusing on fixing bugs and making it perfect. If you don't enjoy traveling through this game, and you just want things to unlock, or things to do I think your missing out on what the devs are trying to create.

its all great to have mechanics down, but what are RARE doing with them
nothing
theres no purpose to anything anyone does
nothing to sail people in a direction of some goal
theres barely any cosmetics and from what i've seen everyone is picking the same two /4
@splatulated there is no purpose to any video game, its all digital and does nothing but serve to entertain, either you are entertained by sailing around, not even having a goal in mind, or you are not entertained, its subjective.

I agree 100%. The core mechanics are the best I have seen in any game world I have played in, that in 30 years of gaming.
However the game also has about the least content I have seen since playing platform games.
Maybe next week they can put in the content patch to justify a £50 price. After all people who buy games are not buying a tech demonstration they want a fleshed out fun game.

it may not be black flag but it has definitely become skull and bones. ubisofts deathmatch version of black flag
@mcdougle99 I've never played skull and bones, but if it is like black flag with multiplayer, then its nothing like SoT. The game mechanics in black flag are nothing like sea of thieves. I played black flag for maybe 8 hours, the sailing was terrible. I've already put way more hours into SoT.

you sail seas and shoot other ships... Technically Sea of Thieves is a different game at heart. but we are only allowed to play death match mode
The main issue for many is the price tag. For what is in the game it just isn’t worth £50-60.
I stress this fact that I love the game and I’m glad I got it, but I need to see they will add something soon. Not to mention this grind is now getting to me. I do a mission to dig up a chest worth 7 gold more than the mission was the buy?! Seriously?!
Yes this happened to me. I was not impressed and though I do love this game with friends when having a laugh, it’s very bland alone or even with fandoms who won’t talk.
It’s taken me 3 days and only now can I get close to buying a sail. I have a life, this grind is going to kill the game if loot is this dragged out to get hold of. But maybe I’m in the wrong here, I just get tired of what feels like less reward for my work at grinding to rank my self up.
@cayden-black I think most people love progression, this game is not about progression and that's why people don't see the value of it. The game mechanics them selves make it worth the price for me, subjectively. Because that's what makes or breaks a game for me. For me its not about how much you can collect, or level up. Its about the game it self, how does it feel, how does it look, how much freedom do you have in the game.
@a13xa4d3r sadly I can only half agree. The game is saving itself only just in the respect you have stated for loving but to me it’s like buying a car only to find you don’t get the body till later.
Again I love the game, but with no real aim it’s just a bland indie game. Thus bringing us back to the price tag. It’s just not showing it’s worth £60. Not by far. People like an aim in mind, and this game does not have it beyond enjoying time messing about with friends. Ironically this is what I enjoy, but the boredom does come knocking after a time digging up chests over and over.

It's a game, games have one purpose: To have a nice time playing them. if you don't have it with SoT don't play it.
@cayden-black For me its like buying a car and not getting to choose the color, but the car feels and drives great, I don't really care about the color. I just hate to see people complain about lack of content in this game, but eat up games have sequels that are just reskins of the same game, at least Rare made something original, even if I get bored of it soon, I've still gotten my moneys worth.
@a13xa4d3r it just needs more in it. The frustration it causes me is seeing so much potential and it’s not using it! I want to see this game flourish and show off some amazing things. New storms, new ships, new realms on the map. It’s all possible and I want to see that. It’s why I’m happy to give it a few months to grow, but it needs to grow or it’ll be pulled from hard drivers like a weed from a garden.
Sure it’s new, but it still needs to appease the masses. That’s how businesses flourish
@cayden-black I agree with you, I'll be just as sad if these amazing mechanics are wasted.
If Rare sticks with this game for as long as they said they want to, content will come, but your right, it might be to little to late. For the last 4 years the focused on making what we have now as perfect as it can be, I love what they have made. Now if they switch their focus to content, it could be amazing what they produce next.@a13xa4d3r I will be happy to wait a month until new items appear, but for their games sake I hope no longer as people are not as lenient to developers as we seem to be. I’m still going to play it for some time to come. Just wanting more as any fan would.
