What the spawn rate on skull forts me and buddies in a game 3 hours now and no skull fort....

@martinmangaming I've been trying to find this out too, played like four hours last night and nothing.
@cr0n0d is that 3 hours from obtaining the key? Or from using it? This is the one i could never find an answer to.
@sanni i have read about people server merging whilst holding a key, upon joining the new server they were able to use the key in the new fort, take the treasure and the skeletons are still spawning wave by wave. I imagine a not so happy crew rolling up on this outpost, killing the captain and taking a key to an already emptied vault... from what you are saying, you could complete a fort, hold the key, do voyages for 3 hours, new fort spawns, use key on new fort, sell treasure, complete new fort, open old fort? Would this work?
