Idea to enrich the PvE and PvP style players.

  • So, i'm seeing alot of people with issues with the pvp. I dont understand why they feel segreation is the answer. it as a option bothered me, because it just seemed anti-fun. So i thought of a fun addition that would help protect the PvE style players, and enrich the time of the PvP players! Its been suggested a few times, but ill go into more detail on why it would help both sides.

    The "Bounty" system.
    Adds a new faction, -Names arent my strong point- that gives out quests to kill players! These players have sunk 2/3 or more ships in a -relatively- short amount of time without being sunk! (Maybe only if they strike first, idk if that would be too hard to track or not)
    Now, how would the actual quest work? After the bounty is placed on them, you can pick up the quest from the faction on each outpost (duh) and u can talk to the lady/man and get a approximation of where they are (Something like 'They were last spotted near chicken island!) and you can always go get another update from any outpost, just like with getting chicken coops. These quests can be picked up by multiple ships at the same time, so its competitive pvp towards other players who have sunk people. anyone who does damage that goes unrepaired by the time it sinks can turn it in for gold!

    Honestly i think something along these lines would give a good target for people who are more interested in pvp, and give possible consequences for people who sink alot of ships.
    Not to mention the guys more interested in PvE would find less people going after them. The game needs risk, on both sides of play. Way more fun, and creative idea than segregation.

  • Now for people reading this , me and night have already been talking about PVE servers yes no . He says no i say yes :P

    but lets think about another solution.

    lets start , Reason i was for PVE server was because i dont wanna limit volunteer interactions on PVP servers. Lets say you have 3 ships meeting up and say :" lets do a death match and see who has the most sunken ships in an hour " A automatic bounty system would maybe be counter productive. I dont want to give that option away if people like it ether ^^ or punish them, games are meant to be fun for everyone playing it

    I want the game to be fun for as many people as possessiv. So! lets say the bounty option is an optional thin instead .. So lets say someone did sink you 3 times within an hour and you dont like it you get an option instead to add a bounty to them or mark them with a bounty. That might be a good start . But what about spawn killing, and when you dont sink a ship but you just keep with a 4 man crew killing 1-2 man sloops and spawn kill them ?

  • @nightraven12345 So i thought about this a bit. So what i think we need :

    1. Better matchmaking , Right now allot of people play solo because finding a crew is not easy. There is the xbox app but that is not working really well. its hard to use for some. hard to navigate .. and does not help when you are already ingame.

    So when matchmaking we need to start with filters we can apply. like PVE , PVP , Voice only , 18 + only etc. that we can use and select so we can join like minded players that are more our style. Those people who lose anyone because he has to log of will also get a new person that fits these criteria that they have selected. This way people will most likely go less solo.

    1. Open see fights, When respawning you should be respawn far away from the current location, this is a must. after getting 3 times killed by the same person / group / sunken ship you can mark a bounty on them. ( of course ram damage also needs to be detected as an offensive game behavior.

    2. 5 seconds invisibility for players respawning on a ship against a longer respawn time ? This is to combat spawn killing

    3. Maybe with x amount of bounties on a pvp player the karken can be spawned at them so they would be for a bit of time be busy with that kraken or other world bosses so PVE players can get a break.

    4. Npc ships ( maybe in the future ) Giving those who wanna kill ships. rob them also other options

    Maybe this would encourage also some more fun role play like lets say where instead of just going ahead and and sinking a ship and asking questions later there would be more of a role playing . So people come up . rob you and use voice for more interesting interactions like shoot first ask questions later .
