If you played on pc then you know exactly what I’m talking about. Moving your mouse across the room to move the reticule a quarter inch is aids. I’ve read some things saying this was intended to balance but I can tell you now this is no balance this is broken.
Using Rifle on pc is pointless.
@vavume hey that’s funny there kid. I have 2500 hours in Rust and 500 hours in GTA online I think I have ample experience in FPS games this is garbage and nothing more. They should fix it cause it’s just not fun when you’re fighting another group and you can’t hit them on a moving ship cause you can’t keep up with the ship when looking through the scope.

Or get a mouse with DPI switch, and you can switch your sensitivity on the fly :)
@liftedsolution4 Seems more like you have ample experience with cancerous games, with c**p for skill based system. Rust is literally one of the top worst fps games online right now. I dont have any issue with sensitivity on SoT. But maybe that's due to only zooming once i'm looking at my target, using the sensitivity to make fine adjustments.

Yeah no. I don't want people sniping me on my ship easily. Ship combat is supposed to be with cannons, not sniper rifles. If sniping people from ships was easy, the core dynamic would change for the worse.
I use the rifle on the ship when I'm going after skeletons occasionally, and I'm usually anchored. IMO that's the intent of it and how it should stay. I've been shot from a rifle on a passing ship before as well. It's not common, usually avoidable if I'm paying attention and I'm perfectly happy with how it's designed today.
@liftedsolution4 gun play is frustrating because instead of using your cannons to sink their ship, or helping your crew with sails and repairs to get them back to your broadside you're sitting in the crowd nest trying to play COD? It's a pirate world, I don't think outside of the one episode in Black Sails, there were many sniper rifles that could shoot from one full speed ship to another with any consistency.
Maybe try to line your shot up before you scope in? You'd think someone with your "experience" would know how to work around low sensitivity when scoped in.

There's already dozens of games in the market in which people have the choice between a buttload of weapons and all anyone actually ever uses are sniper rifles.

No it wouldn't. Not that I care about sniping too much, but I hate it being ruined by a c****y limiter, which is the poorly nerfed aiming.
And I can't think of a single game where somebody would say "The aiming is too good, the game is ruined!".@monkeyyak honestly every sniper should that way, i know you can't understand this argument, but it would be realistic.

Sadly, you can't have it realistic as you don't use a mouse in real life. It could just not be that silly.
You have a number of things that make sniping only a secondary option in a fight.@monkeyyak don't get me wrong i don't think its an issue at all, nor do i believe you should be limited, i already stated several times that decreasing the hitbox for PC users would be way better but i believe no one likes that either.
The sniper isn't useless, just more situational, you still can use it, its just different to most generic shooter gameplay.
Again i am not saying you are wrong, but honestly i can't see anything wrong with it either.
works just fine on a PC. Learn where the center of your screen is, aim, scope to fine tune, kill....

Alright. so. We all know why this is a thing and why it wont change. Making quick jerk-like adjustments on pc would be very easy and fast. And honestly, just like up your shot BEFORE you zoom in. Its not hard to do. Sniper does tons of damage, its worth getting used to. It IS working as intended. its supposed to be slow as the dickens.

No I understand. that is called Balance. You could ask rare to give you KB/Mouse only servers, but then people just cheat and use adapters on controller only servers. the only real fix is to have the same draggy movement across all platforms regardless of input flavor. Im sorry its not been good for you (and I dont mean that in a sarcastic way at all).

It's funny that the people complaining about this haven't figured out to just USE the ship's movement instead of trying to fight it... You know the direction you're going, yeah? Look at the sea and see how rough it is.. you only need to aim left or right and let the ship rocking to take you the rest of the way. Hard? Yeah... duh. They're also black powder weapons.. you expect them to be easy to use? Welcome to life of classic pirates! :)
