Another thing to consider with this discussion is that a game trailer is typically developed in a diorama environment with a lot of the moving parts taken away for the purpose of what is being captured/rendered.
Yes they look gorgeous and it's all for good hype.
But when you get all the mechanics and systems in place if the game was to truly look 1:1 with the trailers we would all need beasts of a gaming rig to play it.
These sort of 'graphics' comparisons are a little unfair and not truly accurate in my opinion because games have to be optimised to be played on all range of hardware.
Sacrifices to the Unreal Engine would have had to be made to ensure a smooth playing experience for all.
More over, graphics do not make a good game, they make a game good to look at, but that's about it.
Secondly, Sea of Thieves is gorgeous.
Like, really gorgeous. It has this timeless aesthetic that will age really well, unlike games with hyper realistic settings.
