More crews per map?

  • I often feel like the maps are empty, wich is not very convenient considering it's a PvP game. Do we even have information regarding the number of maximum players/crew per map?

  • I'd like less crews per map. Getting chased by a galleon I don't want to fight with for an hour when I'm just trying to explore all the islands with my friend is not my idea of fun.

  • I can't confirm, but I've heard that it's 6 crews on a server (max) obviously depending on load it's possible to be less.

Now that's just what I've heard so I have no dev quote or anything to back that up.

It isn't a PvP game though. You CAN fight other crews but that isn't main purpose of the game.

I heard 5 ships per map, which could be galleons or sloops. Since yesterday, I've seen other ships on every play through of this game. I've been chased quite a few times. I've watched other sloops sink themselves. I've seen grand battles between 2-3 galleons ensue. I've seen crews on islands watching me wearily as they find their chests. I'm a passive pirate, I don't attack unless they initiate it and most of the time, they're either chasing me around or waving from their decks.

  • @the-great-gazoo It is. Having the ability to attack and kill on sight and the lack of safe zones is a pretty big indicator that it is in fact a game focusing on PvP elements. Btw this type of no-rule PvP is commonly refered to as "savage PvP". Not sure what you think you bought...

  • @crazysam87 I agree, I’d like to see two or three more ships per server.

  • I would like less ships on the server or even an option to play on a private server.

  • Servers seem empty until you spend some time trying to clear a Fort. Suddenly Ships Everywhere!

  • Honestly i think its fine, usually we see every 20-30 minutes a ship (on the horizon).

  • @blackelite-id16 At that point, just go to an outpost and jump off with your best chests, if you don't want to play master and commander, I would think.

  • @grogandbooty I didn't have any chests.

  • certainly it would be nice to be able to choose for ourselves how populated our sever would be. not fully customizable, like 50 ships in a map, but adjustable by degrees from the default setting.

  • @blackelite-id16 They turn and fight, and be teleported away in 3 minutes when you die. There is no penalty to death, really, unless you've got loot. Going for a hull ram is so satisfying.

  • @Crazysam87 I don't mind the PVP but this game is not a PVP game because the main focus of the game isn't PVP, while is a PVP aspect of the game its not what the game is about

Anyways Im not exactly sure how many people there are but I've seen plenty of ships around while I sail varying form sloops to galleons.

  • @grogandbooty no, and that's the issue. Why would you tell someone to waste time doing something that they don't want to do. It completely kills the fun for that person. It's fine if you don't have a problem with PvP or maybe even only bought the game for it. But it was clearly advertised as Casual Cooperative adventure game and does not live up to those promises. Its nothing but a competitive cluster #$@ of griefing trolls that don't want the casuals to enjoy the game and take to the forums to shoot down anyone that tries leave feedback on the bad impression this game is leaving on them. Don't get me wrong I love the game and am going to be playing it for a long time but there is definitely a lot that could be done to appeal to the broader audience and will have to if they want to stay afloat as long as they expect to.

  • I would personally like to see more crews per map. The OP was right. It often feels empty.

  • @blackelite-id16 I get it's no fun to be griefed (actually, I've had a blast), but it seemed to be that was an integral part of the game from the beginning. If there was no PvP, this game would be sooooo pointless. What sucks, and I'm sure you'll agree, is getting spawn killed. But usually the game will teleport you away from that island to a safer harbor. I don't want to fight a kraken, but sometimes the game forces me to do it, and it's part of the experience. Risk is an inherent element to the game, 100%. Otherwise I'd stack 20-30 chests instead of 10. To take out the pirate aspect of this game would be akin to removing guns from call of duty.
