microphone not working PC

    my microphone doesnt work in game. in fact, it is straight up static when in xbox party chat. im on PC and my mic works fine on other programs. what gives? i have tried the privacy settings and seeing if the game and xbox app is allowed to use my mic and it is.

    what can i do?

    @hiyall1 yes, same here. I am not sure what the problem is. In Windows settings, under privacy, microphone is allowed.

    I assume you've selected the right mic in the Xbox party chat settings. Let's rule out the obvious first. I have a headset mic, webcam mic and USB mic. I have my USB mic set as default recording device in Windows, but by default the Xbox app set it as a speaker! I was wondering why I couldn't hear anyone and why they couldn't hear me, but I eventually found the setting in the app to change it.
